We must think and act in such a way that we remain true to ourselves, while at the same time sparking interest that naturally leads others to ask questions.

After meeting Tanja and Richard, I was immediately inspired by the vision of the kind of iSMIT2026 Congress we want to create: one centered on themes that do not leave us indifferent, but compel us to take a stance, form an opinion, and work on the problems that challenge us in our everyday professional practice.

While the image of us together — including the visual metaphor of clown costumes on stage — may seem at odds with the serious mission, for me it underlines exactly why we need innovation: to disrupt norms, to provoke reflection, and to shift the boundaries of what we believe possible.

What do you believe a congress like this should achieve?
