1. Avocados

Merely half of one avocado contains 10 grams of healthy mono-saturated fats, which stop the blood sugar spikes that tell your body to store fat around your midsection.

Not only do healthy fats in avocado help thwart belly bloat, they also help our bodies better absorb carotenoids, cancer-fighting compounds found in colorful fruits and veggies like tomatoes, carrots, spinach and winter squash. In fact, people who ate salads with avocado had 15 times higher absorption of carotenoids, a study from The Ohio State University at Columbus found.

2. Bananas

The fruit packs 422 milligrams of potassium, a mineral that can help limit the amount of belly swelling sodium in your body.

3. Greek Yogurt

A cup encourages the growth of good bacteria in your gut, throwing out other bugs that can cause bloating.

What to eat at night to support healthy weight loss!

If you are like me, you love a nighttime snack, the problem is most of the time I eat whatever is easy and fast which is most likely going to make me gain weight.

Here are 5 easy and quick snacks you can have at night that will help healthy weight loss that is yummy yummy!

1. APPLE SLICES WITH PEANUT BUTTER
Make sure it is natural peanut butter so it doesn't contain any fatty oil, sugars or additives

2.GREEK YOGURT WITH BLUEBERRIES
Did you know that blueberries are extremely high in nutrients? They contain plenty of antioxidants, which have a positive effect on your immune system. They are also low in calories. Together with Greek yogurt, they make for a high-protein snack that keeps your body supplied with nutrients overnight.

3. WHOLE GRAIN TOAST WITH HAM
A slice of whole-grain toast with two slices of low-fat ham can satisfy small cravings before going to bed. Plus, the snack is low in calories (just 150 in total) and contains 10 g of protein.

4. CARROT STICKS WITH HUMMUS DIP

WHAT I EAT WHEN I CRAVE SUGAR ...

GRAPES

Grapes are a great, naturally sweet treat if you are trying to lower your sugar intake. At the same time, they are a great source of vitamins and minerals.

GREEK & SKYR YOGURT

My personal favorite to help with sugar cravings. Both yogurt types have double the protein of regular yogurt, are low in carbs and taste amazing.
Just make sure you are getting no flavored low-fat Greek & Skyr yogurts.
I like to add toppings like nuts or blueberries, strawberries, raspberries (yes still sugar but natural goodness).

NATURAL PEANUT BUTTER

Peanut butter is an awesome food to help with sugar cravings. It is low in sugar and high in polyunsaturated fats. Make sure the brand you buy doesn’t have extra added sugar. I love to slice up apples and use PB as my dipping.

SMOOTHIES

Smoothies are a great option, especially in the morning when you don’t have a lot of time. It will keep you full for several hours and limit the chances of a sugar craving later in the day. The best thing is you can make many varieties of your liking.

WATERMELON

Watermelon is a super refreshing option! My favorite summer treat on those hot days. They hydrate you and at the same time are packed with nutrients.

VEGETABLES

Yes, vegetables! Capsicum, Carrots, Cucumber are great to snack on. I like to cut them up into sticks and keep them in ready to grab containers in the fridge. Grab your favorite HUMMUS as a dip!

DARK CHOCOLATE

When I crave chocolate badly I substitute with dark chocolate. Dark chocolate has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties which make it a great choice as long as in moderation.
Dark chocolate still contains fat and sugar, so be aware of how much you consume.

FRUIT TEA

When I feel like a sugary soda drink I love to have fruit tea. They taste even better and so refreshing when chilled or add ice cubes in summer

When life gives you lemons 🍋 add water!

I add lemon to my water daily for about 10 years now. It gives me a refreshing start and Vitamin C kick in the mornings. I have never needed coffee anymore since then!
In winter times or when I feel like I’m getting sick, I love to drink hot lemon water with honey.

So to keep my body healthy, fit, and strong I put my focus into eating right and using my daily activities with the children and chores around the house as a form of exercise as a substitute for the gym.
