Founded in 1907 by Bernhard Förster as a manufacturer of spring rings and chain fasteners, our company quickly expanded into the production of watch components, movements, and, eventually, complete timepieces under the brand name FORESTA. In 1974, we shifted focus to the production of expansion screws, marking the evolution of FORESTA into FORESTADENT. Today, we proudly celebrate over 50 years of success in the field of orthodontics. Today we are one of the leading manufacturers of premium quality orthodontic products. But we came a long way from where we started in 1907. The company Bernhard Förster was originally founded as a manufacturer of components for the local jewelry industry for which our home town Pforzheim, also known as the “Gold Town”, is still famous. About 25 years later we expanded into manufacturing of watch movements and finally complete watches under the brand “Foresta”. That was when our name was born.
With the first hints of globalization competition got tougher and the jewelry and watch business harder. Many European watch makers died as a result of the advent of the quartz watch movement.
In a daring maneuver the company was turned around and we finally started our orthodontic product line “FORESTADENT” in 1974.
And here we are - More than four decades later and still going strong. Thanks to our clients, our partners and last but not least our great and constantly growing team.
More than 110 years of knowledge and experience are our tool kit for the future. We change and still remain true to ourselves in the process.
