Most parents think gaps in baby teeth mean something is wrong.
In reality, they usually mean the opposite.

Baby teeth are smaller, so natural spacing develops to make room for permanent teeth to erupt in better alignment. This is a normal part of jaw growth.

When baby teeth are tightly packed with no gaps, it can indicate limited space in the jaw — increasing the risk of crowding, misalignment, and future orthodontic treatment.

Children also naturally have small spaces near their canines, known as primate spaces. These help accommodate larger permanent teeth.

Around age 6, the first permanent molars erupt behind the baby teeth without replacing any tooth. If space is already limited, early crowding often begins at this stage.

A simple way to understand it:
Gaps usually mean healthy development.
No gaps may need early monitoring.

Regular dental visits help track spacing, jaw growth, and eruption patterns before problems become complex.

Baby teeth may be temporary, but they play a key role in guiding permanent tooth alignment.

When a child grinds their teeth at night, they’re not always “just a grinder.” Teeth grinding during sleep can be the body’s response to breathing disruption, as the jaw shifts to help reopen the airway. Many kids are told they’ll “grow out of it,” but it can be a sign their sleep and breathing need a closer look.😁

🪥💙 Gentle Brushing = Happy Smiles!
We LOVE when kids are excited to brush… but sometimes those little hands get a bit too strong! 💪😄
Brushing shouldn’t hurt. If you notice any of these signs, it might be time to lighten up:
🩸 Gums that bleed
🥶 Complaints that teeth feel “ouchy”
⬇️ Gums looking like they’re moving down
🟡 Yellowing near the gum line
😣 Sore or tender gums
Remember, teeth aren’t pots and pans! 🫣 They don’t need scrubbing.
Try this instead:
-Use a soft-bristled toothbrush
-Make tiny, gentle circles
-Brush for 2 minutes (a fun song helps!)
-Parents, lend a helping hand until about age 7–8
Healthy habits today = confident smiles tomorrow! 🌟
