Today and everyday, we honor the strength, resilience, and sacred journeys of Black mothers.

Black Maternal Health Week is more than awareness — it’s a call to action.
A call to listen.
A call to advocate.
A call to protect Black life, Black birth, and Black futures.

Black mothers are still 2–3 times more likely to die from pregnancy and childbirth-related complications on the US.
Over 80% of these deaths are preventable, driven by systemic racism, unequal quality of care, and underlying chronic conditions.

At The Rainbow Doula, we stand in this work every day — holding space, amplifying voices, and providing care that is culturally rooted, compassionate, and empowering.

A long early labor can look like:
moving around with your support team, laughter, good energy, autonomy over your decisions at 41 +3 gestation because everything is looking perfect so we give the body time to do what it's created for.
So proud of this 1st time mom. Finding the Balance between staying active and moving baby down and resting to build energy back up!!
Can't wait to welcome this baby earthside!!

What a wonderful Birth Registration appointment we had the hospital today. This doctor explained every part of his exam, took his time answering questions, was just all around personable and made my clients feel so heard and at peace.
I'm so excited for my them to welcome their first baby. It's going to be a beautiful Birth!! We're ready for you baby girl! 💕
