Watch how the remOVE System is used with a grasper via double-channel endoscope for safe and effective clip removal.

This case by Renner et al. demonstrates how the grasper precisely positions the clip at the cutting probe, enabling controlled fragmentation of the clip edges. The fragments are then safely retrieved from the digestive tract.

The remOVE System is specifically designed for endoscopic removal of Ovesco clips (OTSC®, FTRD®, stentFIX) using innovative DC-based technology.

Indications: Clip misplacement, accidental instrument fixation, local complications, or need for repeat intervention.

The power of OTSC®neo with the OTSC® Twin Grasper® in acute GI perforations. 📊

Acute gastrointestinal perforations were traditionally an absolute indication for surgery. A landmark prospective multicenter study challenged this paradigm - and demonstrated the critical role of proper tissue approximation.

Voermans et al. (2012) evaluated OTSC® closure in 36 consecutive patients with acute iatrogenic perforations across 11 European tertiary centers. All cases were treated using the OTSC® TwinGrasper® for optimal tissue approximation before clip deployment.

Why the OTSC® TwinGrasper® matters: It reduces the risk of grasping adjacent organs and enables precise grasping and approximation of both perforation edges simultaneously - ensuring full-thickness, serosa-to-serosa closure.

The results:
✅ 89% overall clinical success (32/36 patients)
✅ 92% immediate endoscopic closure (33/36 patients)
✅ 0% contrast leakage on post-procedural x-ray imaging
✅ Mean closure time: only 5 minutes 44 seconds

The clinical impact: This prospective trial demonstrated that endoscopic OTSC® closure with the OTSC® TwinGrasper® can successfully manage acute perforations across the entire GI tract.

Shorter hospital stays. Fewer interventions. Better outcomes. 🏥

Endoscopic vacuum therapy (EVT) has proven effective for postoperative upper GI leakage - but combining it with OTSC®neo closure takes results to the next level.
A recent study by Kollmann et al. (2024) compared EVT alone (n=42) vs. OTSC® + EVT combination therapy (n=42) with postoperative upper GI leakage. The results speak for themselves.

OTSC® + EVT combination therapy achieved:
✅ 100% clinical success rate in both groups
✅ Significantly shorter hospital stays: 33 days vs. 46 days (p=0.004)
✅ Earlier discharge under full oral nutrition: 98% vs.60% of patients (p

A special moment for us: We were delighted to present a donation check to the “Hilfe für kranke Kinder” foundation at the University Children’s Hospital in Tübingen. ❤

The donation was made possible through our first customer satisfaction survey, with Ovesco contributing 5 euros for every participation. We increased the sum even further in order to enable the purchase of a training model for endoscopy training in pediatric gastroenterology, helping to improve care for young patients.

The donation was officially presented during our groundbreaking ceremony by Alicia Pulfermuller, Director of Marketing to Dr. Johannes Hilberath, Senior physician in pediatric gastroenterology at the University Children's Hospital in Tübingen and Philipp Nährig, fundraiser at the foundation “Hilfe für Kranke Kinder”.

The foundation is guided by the principle: “It is not enough to make children healthy, we must help them to truly live.” True to this mission, the foundation, established in 2016 through the merger of Hilfe für kranke Kinder e.V. and Stiftung für kranke Kinder, dedicates itself to finding the best ways to support seriously ill children. Their commitment ranges from improving medical care to organizing fundraising campaigns and charity events. Such dedication is both inspiring and invaluable, and we are delighted to contribute to this important cause.

We have been supporting the foundation's work for many years through various projects at Ovesco. 😊

Proven success rates for complex closures 📊

A comprehensive systematic review analyzing 85 studies with over 3,000 patients shows impressive outcomes for OTSC® in true closure indications:

OTSC® monotherapy:
✅ 85.3% clinical success for acute perforations (399/468 patients) 1
✅ 72.6% clinical success for anastomotic leaks (284/391 patients) 1
✅ 70.3% clinical success for prospective fistula cases (71/101 patients) 1

OTSC® in combination therapies:
✅ Up to 100% clinical success when combined with EVT for leakages (n=42) 2
✅ Up to 94% clinical success for fistula closure when combined with tissue preparation (29/31 patients) 3

OTSC® for preventive closure:
✅ 98.2% - 98.7% clinical success for preventive clipping post-resection (54/55 and 72/73 patients) 4,5

These results span from full-thickness wall perforations and post-surgical leaks to chronic fistulae and preventive applications – demonstrating the versatility of OTSC® across the entire spectrum of closure indications.
