Cortex Technology has specialized in a number of unique techniques developed for skin applications, which has materialized in four product families:

DermaScan C: High resolution ultrasound scanners for skin applications. DermaLab Series: A range of instruments targeting skin research labs as well as aesthetic clinics. DSM II ColorMeter: Instruments for measuring skin color, erythema and melanin. CryoPro: A complete range of liquid nitrogen based cryosurgical units and accessories. As a leading manufacturer of such devices we are dedicated to safety and high product quality. Accordingly, all products are manufactured and tested in accordance with current quality and safety standards. In 2007, we were ISO 13485 certified for the production of cryosurgical instrumentation, and our products are
CE-marked and FDA 510(k) approved as appropriate. Cortex Technology is based in modern facilities in Hadsund, Denmark, which are located in an area surrounded by highly skilled sub-contractors thus facilitating the production of specialized and customized parts in close cooperation with our suppliers. Also located here is the central sales and marketing department, which controls a German sales office and distributor activities in 25 countries

What an amazing few days at the AAD 2026 Annual Meeting in Denver!

We truly enjoyed connecting with dermatology professionals, partners, and innovators from around the world.

It was a pleasure to showcase our latest advancements in CryoPro and to see the great interest in our new nitrogen filter and updated spray tips for even more precise and efficient cryosurgery.❄️🎯

Alongside CryoPro, we also brought our DermaLab skin analysis instruments, highlighting how advanced measurement technologies such as ultrasound are playing an important role in documenting and understanding skin changes.

At the event, attendees could also see dermatologist Melanie Palm presenting clinical data on a cosmetic product from Revision Skincare, where ultrasound was used to track improvements in skin density over a 12-week period.

This morning, Tim Houser, CEO of Dermico Lab, successfully delivered his talk, “Hydration evaluation – what’s new?”, to an interested audience.

The session highlighted the scientific value of non-invasive hydration measurement devices in cosmetic studies and shared insights on how validated technologies support reliable and reproducible results in skin research.

A clinical case from Halim Maher Clinic highlights the treatment of a giant resistant palmar wart using a combined therapeutic approach.

The lesion developed on thick acral skin and had proven resistant to multiple prior treatment attempts.

Using CryoPro, cryotherapy was applied as a destructive method, combined with immunotherapy to stimulate an immune-mediated response.

📉 After 4 treatment sessions:
• Significant regression of the lesion was observed
• Improved response compared to previous single-treatment attempts

The case underlines an important clinical insight: resistant warts often respond more effectively to combination therapy, where both tissue destruction and immune activation are addressed simultaneously.

📊 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝘆: Assessing a moisturizer for atopic dermatitis

A clinical study published in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology (2023) evaluated a moisturizer containing tocotrienol-rich natural vitamin E in children with mild to moderate atopic dermatitis.

Using DermaLab Combo, objective and non-invasive measurements of transepidermal water loss (TEWL) and skin color (erythema index) were performed over a 12-week treatment period.

📉 Results after 12 weeks showed:
• 49.7% reduction in TEWL
• 17.4% reduction in erythema

The study highlights how reliable TEWL and color measurements support objective documentation of study results.
