✨ Sutra 1.6 - The Five Rivers of the Mind ✨
१.६। प्रमाणविपर्ययविकल्पनिद्रास्मृतयः।
Your mind isn’t chaos. It’s architecture. 🌌
Patañjali reveals that every thought flows from just five rivers: Right knowledge, wrong knowledge, imagination, sleep, and memory.
When you see this? You stop drowning in your thoughts.
You begin watching them like celestial currents drifting across inner space.

The Five Vṛttis (Mental Movements)
Pramāṇa (right knowledge): What you directly perceive and know to be true.
Viparyaya (wrong knowledge): False beliefs that feel true but aren’t.
Vikalpa (imagination): Stories your mind spins with no basis.
Nidrā (sleep): That gap between waking and dreaming.
Smṛti (memory): The past replaying as present. 💫

Why This Matters
You’re not broken because you have these thoughts.
You’re overwhelmed because you can’t see which river you’re in.
You’re drowning in imagination thinking it’s truth. You’re believing false knowledge like gospel. You’re living in memory instead of now.
But when you see the five rivers clearly?
Clarity becomes possible. Stillness becomes natural. You stop being in the current. You become the sky watching it flow. 🕉️

The Practice This Week
Notice which river shows up most for you:
* Are you lost in stories (vikalpa)?
* Believing old lies (viparyaya)?
* Stuck in what happened (smṛti)?
* Confused about what’s real (pramāṇa)?
Just notice. The awareness itself is the shift. 💚
Your awareness is the sky. These thoughts are just weather.
Comment which vṛtti you notice most today. ✨

✨ Yoga Sūtra Series - Day 5 ✨

Sutra 1.5 – वृत्तयः पञ्चतय्यः क्लिष्टाऽक्लिष्टाः

“The mind moves in five ways - some cause suffering, some do not.”

Your mind isn’t broken. It’s just believing every thought equally.

Anxiety gets the same airtime as wisdom. Shame weighs as much as truth.

But they’re not all the same.

Some thoughts bind you (kliṣṭa). Some free you (akliṣṭa). 🔥

Why You’re Suffering

You don’t suffer because you have difficult thoughts.

You suffer because you believe every thought like gospel truth.

But what if you could tell the difference? 💚

The Practice

Just ask: “Is this helping me or hurting me?”

When fear shows up: “This is fear, not wisdom.” When shame whispers: “This is a wound, not truth.” When clarity breaks through: “This is guiding me home.”

That noticing? That’s where freedom begins. 🧘

The Plot Twist

Patañjali isn’t saying transcend your mind.

He’s saying: Use your mind wisely.

Not all thoughts are your enemy. Some point toward freedom.

Your mind isn’t the problem. Being asleep to it is.

When you notice the difference between wounds and wisdom, between fear and truth?

You take back your power.

That’s when yoga begins—in the gap between you and your thoughts. 💫🕉️

✨ Yoga Sūtra Series - Day 4 ✨
Sutra 1.4 – वृत्तिसारूप्यमितरत्र
“When the mind is not still, we identify with its fluctuations.”

We don’t suffer because life is hard.
We suffer because we become the storm. 🌊
Your mind throws anxiety at you-and suddenly you think that’s you. Pain surfaces-and you believe that’s your identity. Fear takes over-and you’re drowning in it.
But here’s what yoga teaches: Your thoughts aren’t truth. They’re just movements.
That anxiety? A wave passing through. That shame? An emotion, not who you are. That voice saying you’re not enough? Just your mind doing its job.
The moment you stop becoming these things and start watching them instead... everything shifts. 💫

The Sky and the Clouds ☁️
A storm rolls in. Thunder. Lightning. Chaos.
The clouds are wild. The sky? The sky just watches. Vast. Peaceful. Untouched.
You’re the sky, not the clouds.
But we spend our whole lives identifying with the weather. 😅

The Shift Happens Here
When a difficult thought or emotion shows up:
🧘 Notice it (without judgment)
🧘 Name it: “This is anxiety”-not “I am anxious”
🧘 Step back: You’re the awareness watching this, not the thing itself
🧘 Breathe: Feel the space between you and the thought
🧘 Watch it pass: Like clouds across the sky
That tiny shift? That’s yoga. That’s liberation. 🕉️

The Real Practice
Nobody’s asking you to have no thoughts. Your mind’s job is to think.
But you can stop believing every thought is truth.
You can stop becoming your emotions.
You can remember: I’m the witness. I’m the sky.
Life will keep throwing things at you. Your mind will keep spinning stories.
But you don’t have to become the story anymore. 💚
You can stay in the sky-vast, spacious, untouched-and let it all pass.
That’s non-identification.
That’s freedom.
That’s yoga. ✨

✨ Yoga Sūtra Series - Day 3 ✨
Sutra 1.3 – तदा द्रष्टुः स्वरूपेऽवस्थानम्
“When the mind becomes still, the Seer rests in its own true nature.”

Who’s Watching? 🧘
Real question: Who’s noticing your thoughts?
That voice commenting on everything? That’s your mind.
You’re the one watching it.
And that changes everything. 💫

The Stories We Believe
“I’m anxious.” “I’m not enough.” “I’m broken.”
We become our thoughts. But here’s the truth:
Those are just clouds passing by.
The real you-the witness? Untouched. Always. 🌿

When Thoughts Quiet Down
Something shifts.
You’re not lost in thought anymore. You’re aware of it.
You stop being the anxiety and start watching it.
You remember: I’m not my story. I’m the awareness watching it.
That’s yoga. That’s freedom. ✨

What’s Really You?
Your job title? A role. Your past? History. Your worries? Imagination.
None of that is you.
The real you is the quiet awareness holding it all-witnessing, present, untouched.
That’s Svarupé. Your true nature. 🕉️

Try This Now (3 Minutes)
Sit quietly.
Notice a thought.
Ask: “Who’s watching this?”
Don’t think-just feel into that presence. That awareness.
That? That’s closer to who you really are than any thought ever will be. 💚

The Freedom Waiting
You believe you are your thoughts. You suffer because of it.
But when you recognize the Seer-the eternal witness-everything shifts.
Thoughts still come. Life still happens.
But you’re not tangled anymore. You’re watching from space. From clarity. From peace.
That’s real yoga. 🌟

Remember This
You’ve always been the Seer.
You just forgot.
Yoga is the remembering.
Sit today. Let the waves settle.
Notice the one who’s been watching all along.
That’s you. 💫

✨ Yoga Sūtras — Day 2 ✨

Sutra 1.2 – Yogaḥ Citta Vṛtti Nirodhaḥ

“Yoga is the stilling of the fluctuations of the mind.”

Your Mind Right Now 🌊

Be honest—what’s running through your head? Probably everything at once, right? Tomorrow’s stress, yesterday’s regrets, that awkward moment from weeks ago, your to-do list on repeat...

Welcome to citta vṛtti—the mental waves that never stop.

Here’s what nobody tells you: Yoga isn’t about perfect poses. It’s about making your mind still. That’s it. That’s the whole thing.

When the Waves Settle

Something magical happens when your thoughts finally quiet down. You stop being the anxiety and start watching it. The real you emerges—not the one performing, not the worried version—just... you.

That’s yoga. 🧘

Every Practice Points Here

🤸 Asanas? Moving to calm the mind. 🫁 Breathing? Soothing the nervous system. 🧘 Meditation? Watching thoughts pass like clouds. 🕉️ Mantras? Anchoring awareness through sound.

Same destination. Different paths.

Try This Today (5 Minutes)

Sit somewhere comfortable.

Watch your thoughts. Don’t fight them. Don’t judge them. Just observe—like clouds crossing the sky.

Feel the spaces between thoughts.

That gap? That’s where yoga lives. ✨

The Real Truth

You’re not trying to force silence. You’re creating space for stillness to naturally emerge.

You can’t wrestle your mind into peace. But you can practice, breathe, move intentionally—and gradually, gently, the waves will settle themselves.

That clarity? That presence? That’s freedom.

Start today. Just five minutes.

Your deepest self is waiting. 💫

✨ Yoga Sūtras with YogicWays – Day 1 ✨

Sutra 1.1 — Atha Yogānuśāsanam

“Now, the practice of Yoga begins.”

The Real Beginning 🕉️

You know that feeling when you finally decide to show up for yourself? That’s atha - that sacred now.

Every journey into yoga starts here, not on a perfectly rolled mat or in a picture-perfect pose. It starts the moment you decide that right now, you’re ready to listen to yourself.

What Atha Really Means

Atha isn’t just a word, it’s an invitation. It’s the universe saying, “You’re ready.” Maybe you’ve tried yoga before. Maybe this is your first time. Either way, this moment counts because you’re showing up with intention.

Real yoga? It doesn’t care if you can’t touch your toes or hold a handstand. It starts with something far more powerful, your willingness to begin, your honesty with yourself, and the courage to sit with whatever comes up.

Your First Step Today

Forget everything you think yoga “should” be. Just:

✨ Find a quiet corner (even 2 minutes counts)
✨ Sit comfortably (chair, floor, wherever feels right)
✨ Take three conscious breaths
✨ Whisper it silently: “Atha… now I begin.”

That’s it. That’s your yoga today. 🙏

Why This Matters

When Patañjali wrote this 2,000 years ago, he wasn’t being poetic—he was being practical. Every moment offers a fresh start. Every breath is an atha. The question isn’t whether you’re ready; it’s whether you’ll choose to begin now.

There is something extraordinary about embracing ordinariness. This doesn't mean we should stop striving for excellence or hide our talents. Instead, it signifies recognizing that being true to oneself is enough, regardless of external validation. When you take control of your life and accept that it’s perfectly okay if the world doesn't think the world of you, you gain immense inner strength. This self-acceptance makes you truly extraordinary.

Spiritually speaking, drawing too much attention to yourself can entangle you in the egos and karmic energies of others. Unless your livelihood as an influencer or politician depends on public admiration, it's worth considering whether others' opinions truly matter to you.

Attaining the spiritual and emotional maturity to be unbothered by what others think of you is a profound transformation. It requires effort, but once achieved, it frees you to live authentically and powerfully.

What is the secret of a good relationship?

Most marriages fall apart because the partners become too serious, too much planning. Almost everything becomes a chore. In such relationships, friendship flees away leaving only responsibilities and expectations behind. The focus shifts from what is fulfilling to what the other person is not doing for you.

Before long, people feel resentful towards each other. And when, you experience more resentment than joy with your partner, it’s a classic sign that you are tired and worn out.

If you want to make a relationship work, you have to offer space to each other. It has to have a certain degree of maturity where you are able to express your thoughts, concerns and fears. One of the most important relationship skills, in fact, is the ability to communicate clearly with one another.

What are some truth about marriage?

Relationship management skills are at their best in a marriage because it requires a lot of work! No matter how independent or peaceful your nature, irrespective of your faith, beliefs, or religion, fulfillment in any personal relationship is directly dependent on the quality of commitment from both partners.

Forming relationships or breaking them is rarely a black-and-white matter. It is not always easy to just call off or put up. Your state of mind is greatly, if not constantly, affected by your relationships.

The primary source of your memories are your relationships, they are the seat of your emotions in a way. Both partners want some quality, a certain equality in a relationship. It is often compared to a two-wheeler, where both wheels need to be balanced for the vehicle to move smoothly.

However, that is an intellectual proposition, albeit a convincing one. In reality, man and woman are built differently, psychologically, emotionally and physiologically.

It is easy to get carried away and think me-me-me, but a functional relationship is about a lot of patience, mutual care and respect. With such traits blossom the wildflower of love, spreading its fragrance all around, making life more beautiful and worthwhile. Since no man’s an island and considering that our memories, thoughts, desires, and dreams have other people in them, we may as well value the people we already have in our lives. For, us always value what we truly love. And the only way to keep love is to love back. Love begets love.

Who am I?

Throughout our lives, we are often compared with other people

We are constantly made aware of our limitations as a result we forget who we really are

We forget our real nature. The true self is beyond pain, grief, and sorrow.

Taken from Upanishads and various Vedic texts we going to meditate on real nature

Just pay attention to the affirmations

I am not the body
I am not the mind
I am not the senses
I am not the conscious either
All these serve me, I am eternal and beyond these.

I am not a man or a women
I am not young or old
I am not beautiful or ugly
I am not a friend or an enemy
I am not a father or a son
I am not a mother or a daughter
I am not a husband or wife
These are mere classifications, I am eternal and beyond.

I am not pure or impure
I am not good or bad
I am not hot or cold
I am not moral or immoral
I am not realized or unrealized
These are mere dualities, I am eternal and beyond.

I am not bound or free
I am not hated or loved,
I am not happy or unhappy
I am not foolish or intelligent,
I am neither successful nor a looser
These are mere perspectives, I am eternal and beyond these

I am not weak or strong
I am not restless or lazy
I am not tired or refreshed
I am not healthy or unhealthy
I am not my past
These are temporary states, I am eternal and beyond all these.

I can't die
I can't be sick
I can't be hurt
The real me can't be grieved

I know no sorrow
I know no pain
I know no grief
I know no hurt
I know no sickness
I lack nothing

I am beyond the good and bad
I am beyond praise and criticism
I am beyond everything that can be thought of or imagined
I am beyond what is said or heard

I am Indestructible, indivisible, infinite, eternal, supreme soul, the highest realization
I am the pure consciousness
I am beyond birth and death
I have existed before this universe
I am an independent unit but part of a complete phenomena
I am complete, independent, true, eternal, adequate, sufficient

I am THAT
