As the year draws to a close, it is, as tradition has it, time for this year’s hand-drawn Christmas card from Forma.

Each year, Julius tries to distil the past year into a single image – filled with references to the many internal events and memorable moments that have shaped our everyday life.

2025 has been a year in which we sent our first colleague on parental leave and once again welcomed new teammates. This year, to our very own former canning warehouse in the Mariendal district of Frederiksberg, which we are gradually transforming into a studio with a woodworking shop, digital makerspace, coffee salon, lecture hall, “slyngelstue,” and courtyard.

Throughout the year, we have worked across renovation, transformation, and new construction – at many different scales and in many different contexts.
The year has very much been defined by local plans, bills of quantities, detailed design, and construction sites – and hopefully 2026 will be the year we truly get going on site.

Thank you to all our clients and collaborators for a busy, meaningful, and rewarding year.

We look forward to continuing the work in 2026 – and to welcoming you to the first celebrations at our new address.

We are in the process of renovating a residential building designed in 1880 by architect Julius Bagger in 1880 - a very productive architect who single handedly designed about 700 buildings in the central part of Copenhagen, Nørrebro and Østerbro.

In the process we are converting the old attic storage space into new apartments and roof terrasses.

The challenge of the ‘Super-Hospitals’

Denmark is merging hospitals into fewer units with large population bases of over 300,000 inhabitants to support the development of highly specialised professional environments for medical research and training.

The construction of these super-hospitals raise the question about what will happen to the existing local hospitals that are now being vacated.

This complex topic opens up for interesting discussions about the reuse of the empty buildings and their infrastructure.

The transformation of Haderslev Hospital

How do we reprogram and and transform more than 50.000 sqm hospital buildings and supporting infrastructure into a new integrated neighborhood in Haderslev while maximizing the use of existing building components and with intelligent use of new materials?

The strategy is a flexible building program that can evolve over time, and originates in the understanding of the buildings architectural history, materiality and cultural position in the local context.

Our small studio is expanding and we are looking forward to welcoming additional emerging talent to our small international team of 7 architects.

We are currently working on residential, mixed-use, commercial, hospitality and cultural projects ranging from single family homes to 50.000 sqm transformations.

We work with transformation, renovation and new-built primarily in the urban context of greater Copenhagen and Toronto area.

Our Office is located in an old printing press in central Copenhagen between the Glyptotheque and the Harborfront.

Applicants must hold EU working permit and be affiliated with an accredited university. Position is paid.
