Last week, our teachers gathered for a workshop with Laura Colstrup, Rört member, anthropologist and someone living in a bigger body, who shared reflections, lived experience, and knowledge on diversity and inclusion.
We spoke about how to create classes and environments that more actively take non-slim bodies into account, while also opening up a broader conversation about inclusion at Rört: where invisible barriers exist, which assumptions we make about bodies that don’t fit the “norm”, and where we still need to keep learning and doing better, both as a movement space and as a community.
This is ongoing work for us. Work we want to approach with openness, humility, and responsibility, while continuing to listen, reflect, adjust and grow into a space that feels more inclusive for many kinds of bodies and people.
Thank you for taking the time to share your reflections and experience with such generosity and clarity 🤍
If you’re sitting with thoughts, reflections, or experiences on this topic, please reach out to us at hello@rort.dk or to . We’d love to hear from you.
