I’m happy to share that after 2 years and a lot of learning, I’m now officially certified as a Musculupat 🎓

But what does that actually mean?

A musculupat is a therapist who specializes in the muscles, joints and connective tissues of the body, and how tension, overload and everyday habits can lead to pain and dysfunction.

A musculupat works by identifying which muscles and movement patterns are creating the problem, as well as the nervous system response and then helping the body recover.

A treatment can include:

👉 Targeted manual therapy (massage and muscle treatment)
👉 Releasing tight or overworked muscles
👉 Improving mobility and movement patterns
👉 Breathing or relaxation techniques to calm the nervous system
👉 Simple exercises or advice to prevent the problem from returning

The goal is not only temporary relief, but to understand the cause of the tension and help the body function better long-term.

It was very exciting and eye opening to learn how so many things are affecting us everyday, both mentally and physically, I am very greatful for AM Academy for all the lessons learned there.

My next step is a mindfulness and Cognitive behavioral therapy based stress reduction program.

Every month I donate to a new NGO, posting it here to share good initiatives around the world.

Today I donated to World Central Kitchen.

They show up where food is needed most.
War zones. Natural disasters. Communities in crisis.

Instead of sending money into “big systems,” they mobilize local chefs and volunteers and start cooking immediately. Fresh meals. On the ground. Fast.

Since 2010, they have served 600millions of meals after hurricanes, earthquakes, wildfires, and conflicts around the world.

What I respect most is their efficiency.
They focus on one thing: get nutritious food to people quickly and with dignity.

For every 100$ they get, only 4$ is going to administration, it is one of the most ressource efficient NGO i found yet!

If you’re looking for a place where your money turns into real, immediate impact, this is one of them.

It is cheap and simple, and can make a difference !

Although it probably won't be enough by itself, combined with manual therapy of exercises, kinesiotaping can help you lower the everyday tension on your neck and get rid of symtomes.

Using it as part of treatments, i have seen it help, especially when working long hours or training.

Small transformation. Big lesson I bring into my treatments. 🌿

Not so long ago, this was my reality:

❌ I couldn’t even reach my ankles
❌ Stretching felt uncomfortable and frustrating
❌ My body was always “on”, stiff, guarded

Today:

✅ Forehead comfortably reaching my knees
✅ More space in my hips and lower back
✅ My nervous system settles faster
✅ Movement feels easier, not forced

This didn’t happen by pushing harder or stretching through pain.
And that’s exactly why I’m sharing it here.

What actually changed things for me is what I also see with my clients every week:

👉 When the body feels safe, it lets go
👉 Consistency beats intensity
👉 Forcing creates resistance, support creates change

Most people I work with think they need stronger stretches or more pressure.
But big changes starts when we slow down and take them step by step.

This post is a small virtual pat on the shoulder 🤍
And a reminder that your body is not broken, it’s adaptive.

If being comfortable in your body feels far away right now, it doesn’t mean you’re doing something wrong.
It often just means your body needs a different approach.

PS: Stretching can help to keep your body healthy and functional in the long-term, but it cannot take tensions away.

How Beatrix reduced her weekly migraines.

When Beatrix first came to the clinic, she had many strong migraines that lasted several days for many years and alo felt discomfort in her neck that made it hard for her to relax.

She was embarrassed by having to take sick days so often, and was tired of losing so much time resting, waiting to let the migraine go away.
It was affecting her work and social life, and definitely bringing her mood down.

Now Beatrix only have 1 migraine/month.
She doesn't have to call sick or skip plans with friends, and she can focus on what matters to her!

On our first session I not only checked the muscles and bones, but also her breathing pattern, nervous system, and life habits.
She was surprised that her breathing could affect the problem and her nervous system was blocking her in that state of pain !

Suddenly there was more to it than just muscle or posture, and she understood that she could take simple and practical steps to change that for long term results.
She is also glad to have some techniques to manage the symptoms on her own.

You deserve to feel safe in your own thoughts.

Negative self talk can affect both your mental and physical health, and for many of my clients, it can also make it harder to follow a program, or keep doing the steps towards a better life and take care of themselves.

One of the techniques you can use to change that is called positive reframing, and it is very simple : when you notice a negative thought, replace it with a thought that will support you instead.

Have you been feeling pain for a long time ?

Your nervous system is constantly connected with all parts of your body.
If at some point you start using one part less (maybe because of life habits, or because it feels stiff or hurts), your nervous system will start thinking :

"Alright, we haven't been using this part much for a while now, let's be smart with our energy and spend it somewhere else"

And slowly, you start losing connection and control over that part.
You forget how to move it properly.

Over time, this can lead to more pain, or movement restriction.

Luckily you can retrain your brain to build connections again, just by doing some gentle, controlled movement.

My clients usually find these functional neurology exercises pleasant to do, and say that it is easy to find the motivation to do them regularly.
