CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY What is Craniosacral Therapy? Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle hands-on treatment, which supports the body’s ability to balance, restore and heal itself. It assists the release of tensions deep in the body, helping to relieve a wide range of conditions including: chronic neck and back pain; migraines and headaches; digestive disorders; stress and anxiety; chronic fatigue; trauma; post-dental and post-operative recovery. Who is it for? Due to its gentle approach, CST is suitable for everyone from babies and children to the elderly. Treatment The initial appointment takes approximately 75 mins, during which a full consultation/case history is taken. The treatment is performed on a couch and it is recommended that you wear loose, comfortable clothing for the session. Light contact is made on the body, usually at the feet, shoulders, spine, pelvis and head so that areas of tension and restriction can be identified and released in a supported and gentle way. Prices Initial consultation and treatment – £50 (75 mins) Subsequent treatments – £50 (1 hour) SPORTS MASSAGE What is sports massage? Sports and remedial massage therapy is the treatment, management and rehabilitation of soft-tissue problems where there is pain, injury and dysfunction, primarily in the muscles, tendons and ligaments of the body. Who is it for? It is applicable to a wide range of acute and chronic conditions and targets not only sports-related injuries but also problems originating from occupational stress, repetitive strain, postural misalignment and muscle fatigue. Treatment An initial consultation with Sarah includes a full case history and postural assessment. The treatment incorporates: deep massage and soft tissue techniques; trigger point therapy; facilitated stretching; gentle joint mobilisation and Myofascial Release. Initial treatments focus on the immediate alleviation of pain and restriction. Follow-on sessions take the long-term view of improving posture, increasing flexibility, strength and range of movement, balancing body structure and restoring natural alignment to the body. Each treatment is individually tailored to the person and, if required, exercises are given for strengthening, stretching and co-ordination skills. Prices Initial consultation and treatment – £55 (60 mins) Subsequent treatments – £35 (30 mins) About Sarah Sarah is a biodynamic craniosacral therapist, sports and remedial massage therapist and yoga teacher.
