Kat's story: from dancer to yoga teacher 🧘♀️. Growing up in East Berlin, movement was her first language. She discovered yoga almost by accident in Amsterdam. Her friends called it “sauna yoga”, haha, she had no idea what to expect. Ninety minutes later, everything had shifted, she was hooked. One class and she knew this was it. She did not just want to practice but wanted to teach, immediately.
For the past 12 years, Kat has been teaching Bikram and vinyasa yoga across the world in New York, London, Berlin, Los Angeles, Hawaii, Bangkok, Hamburg, Munich, Vienna, supporting people on their journeys back to themselves. Every city brought new faces, new stories, new energy. And yet, everywhere felt like coming home. Yoga has this magic. No matter where you are in the world, you step into the room and there is connection. Breath. Presence. Community.Yoga connects Kat not only to so many beautiful friendships across continents, it connects her to her own soul.
Two teachers who have shaped Kat profoundly are Emmy Cleaves and Joseph Encinia. From them she learned discipline and determination, power and love for detail. They showed me that precision can be devotion. That strength and grace can coexist. That commitment is an act of love.
In 2013, Kat made took the leap and participated in yoga championships. This was not about competition for Kat but about self-confrontation, growth, and embodying everything the practice had taught me. It deepened my respect for the lineage and for the responsibility of being a teacher.
And now, Kat is in Roskilde for the first time, She is beyond excited and feels that same excitement she felt in her very first class. Kat is so happy and deeply grateful to be here to meet this community, to share, to learn, and to grow together.
Because in the end, yoga is not just something Kat teaches.
It is how she lives.
