Story time: while I was going through my doctorate schooling, I had a clinical rotation at a nursing home. The far majority of the people living there had difficulty doing simple tasks we take for granted during the day simply because they had lost physical strength. Lifting in the gym isn’t something that is only for the young athlete but for EVERY age of life. Strength training provides a foundation for athletic performance AND the ability to keep your balance and limit falls as we age.
