In 1902, the Demant family posed for a formal photograph - unaware that only two years later, hearing aids would become a defining part of their story and the beginning of .
At the time, Camilla Louise lived with hearing difficulties. Wanting to support her, her husband Hans Jørgen Demant travelled to London to bring home a new electric hearing aid. The change it brought to Camilla’s life spread quickly, and soon others approached him for the same help.
On 8 June 1904, he became the sole agent for General Acoustic in Denmark. This marked the start of a journey that still shapes our purpose today: improving life for people with hearing difficulties.
