Many breathwork modalities focus entirely on the software–breathing techniques and patterns.

These exercises are linked to better sleep, reduced stress, higher energy, faster recovery, increased CO2 tolerance and lung capacity.

There are – however – some health challenges that require a look at the hardware.

Today, Stig’s good friend, Dr. John Lieurance, has released his new book, Airways, that dives into respiratory health from an anatomical perspective.

As a functional Chiropractic Neurologist with over 30 years of clinical experience, Dr. Lieurance reveals how cranial structural issues could be the silent cause behind sleep apnea, brain fog, chronic fatigue and neurological problems.

This book reveals the “Structural Trap” of modern life–how mouth breathing leads to gradual collapse of skull and teeth, resulting in an obstructed airway and shrinking of the glymphatic system, responsible for critical waste clearing in the brain.

You will learn the science behind two powerful clinical methods – Functional Cranial Release (FCR) and Endonasal Balloon Adjusting – to physically widen the airways, increased cerebrospinal fluid movement and flexibility of the skull sutures for life-long improved brain function.

Dr. Lieurance will also reveal some of his most powerful biohacking tools and practices, including Methylene Blue, CO2 therapies, and Photobiomodulation to supercharge oxygen delivery, the "Ganesh Protocol" for nasal sinus cleansing, and his personal Functional Eye Movements for neurological fitness.

And – as a special bonus – Dr. Stig Severinsen has written a whole section on Applied Breathwork in Everyday Life, with practical protocols for stamina and memory from his own experience as 4x world champion freediver and training multiple Olympic Gold winning athletes.

Are you suffering from sleep apnea, feel sluggish throughout the day or looking to move your performance into superhuman territory?

The answer lies in your airways. It’s time to open them up – physically and spiritually.

Why is it so hard for good habits to stick? 😕

We are one month into 2026.

Chances are, the cracks in keeping new year’s resolutions up are starting to show.

You ask yourself: “Do I really need to do a workout every morning?”

What you need to learn is how to form good habits.

🔦 Enter the Breath as Guiding Light

Our breath is one of the most important powerful tools to reinforce routine.
It’s accessible. Any time. Anywhere. For free.
It’s a direct link to our nervous system through the vagus nerve.

Do you want to get more out of each breath?
Start with building awareness from the ground up.

We breathe 20.000 to 30.000 times a day.
Learn to appreciate every breath, and allow the breath to lead.

Synchronize your breathing with your steps.

Center the breath.

⏱️ 76.6 seconds; that’s how long you have to hold your breath to make a world championship defining difference. 🏎️🏁

It happened a few years ago on the tracks of Hungaroring.

Lewis Hamilton held his breath for exactly 76.6 seconds to sn**ch his first pole position in almost two years from the – at the time – seemingly unstoppable Max Verstappen.

The seven time (!) Formula One World Champion has since spoken about holding his breath during intense qualifying laps, and feeling completely out of breath after.

If you feel bad that you can’t hold your breath for over 20 minutes, like Stig –
it’s time to stop and just embrace the breath hold.

One minute. Two minutes. Five minutes.
It’s not the length of the hold.

It’s what you do with it.

Lewis used the breath hold to maximize his focus and performance to edge out Max and show the world he still had fuel left in the tank.

What amazing feat will you accomplish? 🏆

P.S. Lewis Hamilton has picked up breathwork, ice baths and meditation ever since, helping him with recovery and rehabilitation. Is it time for a comeback (like Stig’s 2020 world record)?

Can you name the most important aspect of breath holding?
Give yourself a second.

Is it controlling the mind?
Being in great shape?
A strong, flexible diaphragm?

The biggest breath hold wins start with relaxation,
and the key to relaxation is in the exhalation.

Follow along,
and experience how you regain calm & focus in a single session:

Step-by-step:
- Sit or lie down in a comfortable position (preferably lying down)
- Do 10 prep breaths - Inhale through your nose, exhale slowly through your mouth with slight resistance (like a hissing sound), focusing on letting go of tension in your mind and muscles
- The breathing relaxes you - The controlled exhale increases oxygen in your blood and triggers the vagus nerve, lowering your metabolism
- Then hold - After the 10th exhale, take a final breath in and begin your breath hold

Make it a habit. A new week of the 7-Day Breath Hold just started (link in comments).

👋 Meet a legend …

With over 30 years of experience, starting as a CPR technician and an underwater rescue specialist in Viet Nam, Dan was a real-life hero before many of us even heard of breathwork.

Dan opened the eyes for many, and truly is a pioneer in the world of breathwork.

It really is no exaggeration to say that Dan Brulé is the “Bruce Lee of breathwork”

Out with the old, in with the new; easier said than done? 🤔

What if I told you there is a two-step that washes away all the BS from yesteryear.

First you intentionally let go with force, followed by a gentle release to empty the lungs.

Create space for the new with the New Year Clearing Breath.

The Setup
+ Sit or lie down with a good posture
+Breathe deeply in through the nose; fill the lungs completely

Step One:
+ Immediately exhale as forceful and rapidly as you can through your mouth

Step Two:
+ Release all muscular tension and allow any remaining air to passively flow out

The Finish:
+ Hold your breath for 1 to 2 seconds
+ Breathe in normally and return your normal breathing rhythm

Start every day of your week with this routine.
Do you feel ready yet`? 🚀

⏰ “The best time to start was yesterday. The 2nd best time to start is now”

What is a better time to start doing what you have been putting off for years. January is the month of new beginnings.

Want to quit smoking?
Lose weight?
Get out of debt?
Simply take up a new hobby?

New year resolutions have the unfortunate reputation of being broken within days. It does not have to be that way.

Every year is a new year. Every day is a new day. Every breath is a new breath.

Think of what you would change in your life.
Hold your breath.
For a minute or as long as it feels comfortable.

Now, let it go and go make that change!
