This Year We Find Ourselves Different
This year, we find ourselves changed.
Not like other years. We find ourselves facing absences that hurt, distances that weigh heavy, and silent struggles known only to God.
It has been a difficult year.
A year marked by migrations that separated embraces, by strained economies that tested our patience, by illnesses that reminded us how fragile we are. A year when many times we had to be strong without wanting to be, smile with a tired heart, and keep moving forward even without having all the answers.
And yet, here we are.
We are here because, despite everything, love did not break.
Because family remained a refuge, even if only through a phone call, a message, or a prayer shared from afar.
Because friendship endured, even in silence.
This year reminds us that hope is not born from abundance, but from trust.
That light does not erase the night, but it allows us to walk through it.
That God does not always change our circumstances, but He never abandons us in the midst of them.
That the true miracle is not always that everything suddenly gets better,
but that we have made it this far without losing the ability to love,
to believe,
to hope.
Today we give thanks for all that was lived, even for what hurt, because it made us more human, more united, more aware of what truly matters.
And we look ahead with open hearts, trusting that the best may still come.
May this end of the year be a rest for the soul, a reunion with inner peace, and a reminder that as long as there is faith, love, and unity, there will always be hope.
