But after witnessing our work relieve lifelong physical pain, sports injuries, emotional traumas, and even partial paralysis – we have become pretty confident in the healing powers of Resistance Stretching.
Resistance Stretching is a therapeutic treatment that applies the necessity to contract and resist while stretching. This process produces immediate, cumulative, and permanent increases in flexibility and strength.
One of our specialized practitioners guides you through a customized stretch session based on your problem areas. Assisted Resistance Stretching (ARS) is when one or more humans applies physical strength to move a part of the body in one direction while the individual works to move it in the opposite direction; resistance.
This 'resistance stretching' eliminates traumatized, accumulated, dense fascia that surrounds the muscle. Removing this fascia results in complete reshaping of posture, immediate performance upgrades, and significant improvements in physiological health.
Flexibility is all about fascia
Fascia is a band or sheet of connective tissue, primarily collagen, beneath the skin that attaches, stabilizes, encloses, and separates muscles and other internal organs.
When excess fascia is torn and removed, flexibility and optimal mobility begin to return. We call this an “upgrade.”
How much does it cost?
We charge $100/hour and recommend a minimum of 1.5 hours for optimal healing.
Does it hurt?
Only as much as you allow it to. The tearing of fascia is uncomfortable, but just like in conventional physical therapy, pain is progress. So long as you are resisting, further injury should not occur. For best results, push through the discomfort, using breathwork and mental resilience in order to exceed your self-imposed limitations – it is past this point that you will find relief.
Is it dangerous?
By resisting, you are protecting your body from injury. ARS is no more dangerous than a yoga class.
How long until I feel better?
You will feel an immediate and permanent change in your body. However, just as fascia built-up once, it can again. In order to keep the results, you must avoid the source of your trauma and/or keep a stretch routing – either regular ARS, daily self-stretching, or a combination. Proper nutrition and stress management are also crucial, our team can assist with this as well via Nutrition and Lifestyle Coaching.
