Comprehensive Dental Implant Certificate Program
It's a one-year, fellowship certificate program that is designed to allow dental practitioners getting through the world of implantology. It provides dental practitioners with the highest level of knowledge and skills related to the placement and restoration of dental implants. The program includes lectures, live patient demonstrations of various surgical procedures, practical workshops, and clinical patient training. The program involves two sections; a basic section and an advanced section
The basic section aims at guiding practitioners through the basic principles of dental implant management. While the advanced section covers the advanced surgical, prosthetic and esthetic principles of dental implant therapy and provides a more comprehensive training opportunity. Basic Section
This section will extend for a period of about 3 months. Participants will be qualified to successfully place and restore simple, straight forward implant cases in their practices. In this program every candidate will be required to place at least one implant in a patient under the supervision of a trained professional course team. The basic section covers the following topics:
• Treatment planning of dental implants
• Principles of surgical placement of dental implants
• Flap designs and suturing techniques
• Guided bone regeneration
• Single, multiple, full arch dental implants
• Implant overdentures
• Maintenance of dental implants
• Complications and failure of implant therapy
Basic section workshops include:
• Radiographic interpretation
• Ridge mapping procedures
• Surgical Guide preparation
• Suturing techniques
• Implant placement in prepared bone specimens
• Different impression techniques
• Abutment selection and prosthesis construction (laboratory and clinical steps)
There will be a live case demonstration for implant placement done by Prof. Moataz Khamis. Each candidate will required to place a single implant. Advanced Section
This section will extend for a period of about 6 months. This section is mainly intended for those who have already taken implant courses and have placed and restored some cases. It will take dental practitioners one step further in the revolutionary implant world. Participants will be qualified to successfully deal with advanced or complicated implant cases in their practices. In this program every candidate will be required to place about 10 implants in patients under the supervision of a trained professional course team. The advanced section covers the following topics:
Surgical part
• Recent advancements in treatment planning and imaging
• Immediate implant placement in freshly extracted sockets
• Managing patients with compromised bone quality and quantity
• Bone splitting – bone expansion – bone grafting
• Sinus elevation techniques
• Guided bone regeneration
• Soft tissue management around dental implants
• Flapless implant placement
• The role of lasers in dental implant procedures
• Managing complications associated with surgical placement of implants
Prosthetic part:
• Advanced treatment planning
• Creating highly esthetic implant restorations in the esthetic zone.
• Detailed prosthetic construction of single tooth, multiple teeth, full arch restorations and overdentures.
• Occlusal concepts in implant prosthodontics
• CAD CAM applications in implant prosthodontics
• Loading protocols - Achieving predictable immediate loading
• Implant complications, failure and management
(clinical sessions) In this section, candidates will be required to:
• Place a minimum of 10 implant units
• Perform at least one GBR case
• Optionally perform a sinus lift procedure

CERTIFICATION
Participants will receive certificates accredited by:
• Faculty of Dentistry, Alexandria University (That can be endorsed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs).
• One year membership of the DGZI at a specially reduced rate (optional upon request with additional fees)
*Upon completion of the one year program candidates are eligible to sit for the German Board of Oral Implantology exam taking place in cairo without needing to take the GBOI course

• The course is considered an elective course to those enrolled in Masters or PhD programs at the Faculty of Dentistry, Alexandria University, which entitles them to 6 credit hours in their Masters or PhD programs.
• The 1 year program (for those who will complete all sessions, basic, advanced surgical and advanced prosthetic) is comparable to the one by the German Board of Oral Implantology (GBOI) and accredited by it, exempting candidates from attending the GBOI program and entitling candidates to enter the German Board of Oral Implantology exam directly which is a step towards obtaining a Masters Degree of Oral Implantology from German and Austrian universities.
