Looking to improve your mental health + wellbeing?

Here are four tips to help you improve the quality of your life so that you feel more optimistic + excited about your life!
* Take atleast 15 minutes self-care, this looks different for everyone but make sure you do things that make you feel good. This can be making a meal, reading a book, taking a bath, walking and much more.

* Connect with your social support - this includes your partner, family, friends, support groups, collewgues, etc. If you dont have one, focus on connecting with others.

* Practice mindfulness through meditation - you can also practice mindfulness by focusing on a single task at a time without distractions. You can also sit in silence 🙂.

* Get creative or work on a hobby/project - 'think what does your inner child want to do?'

It's not just you!

If these things sound familiar to you, then it might be helpful to remember the following:

* Although anxiety may feel terrible, it usually doesn't look as bad as it feels.

* Try not to worry too much if there are sileces. Everybody has a responsibility to keep the conversation going, not just you.

* Even if people can see that you're anxious, it doesn't mean that they will think badly of you.

* Anxiety turns your attention inwards, which can make the symptoms of anxiety worse. If you're talking to someone, attend closely towhat they are saying, rather than thinking about what to say next.

* If you do feel overwhelmed it's important to take time for breaks. This may involve a trip to the bathroom, or a quick walk to clear your head - it's amazing what a big difference it can make to how you feel.

* Watch out for 'fortune telling' and 'catastrophising' thought patterns. These are common 'cognitive distortions' in social anxiety and can lead to fear and panic. Once you become aware of your thoughts, ask yourself, 'do i have any evidence that this is true?'
