AMSA Summer School

“Do not tell me who you are, but show me what you do then your actions will tell about you”. Previously we knew who AMSA is and knew its structure so now it is time to see what change AMSA implement to the society:
⬛ Nationally
♦ Public health field
AMSA carries on awareness campaign on the major society distressing diseases like Diabetes mellitus, hypertension and cancer in all aspects of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
Screening for diabetes, hypertension and hepatic viruses all over the country.
Launching surveys on Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), Anti-Microbial Resistance (AMR) and healthy life style and using data obtained from these surveys and screening tests for statistical studies published by the name of AMSA.
Medical convoys providing health care services for people cannot afford it.
Awareness campaigns to increase knowledge about mental diseases.
Training new student on public health topics so that they can spread the knowledge to their peers and to the population.

♦ Medical Education field
Holding annual first aid training (20 hours) to more than 300 hundred medical students yearly.
Organizing training camps and workshops on the basics of medical research and statistics for medical students (four camps up till now)
Holding conferences about improvement of medical education in cooperation with faculty of medicine Al Azhar university.
Organizing soft skills training camps for students to improve their effectiveness and teach them to make a good use of their energy.

♦ Human rights field
Preparing online and physical campaigns to eliminate stigma against syndromic lifelong diseases and disability like Dawn syndrome.
Launching campaigns to support cancer fighters all over Egypt.
Online and physical campaigns to support the right of the blind and the deaf.
Organizing annual sign language teaching workshop as a part of supporting the deaf and dumb to spread understanding.

♦ Reproductive health and STDs
Awareness campaigns on maternal health and safe motherhood.
Launching online and physical campaigns to fight Gender Based Violence in forms of Anti-female ge***al mutilation (AFGM) and child abuse prevention.
Launching campaigns on adolescent health to increase knowledge about adolescent and issues related to puberty.
Breast cancer centered workshops, training, awareness campaigns and surveys.

⬛ Internationally:
AMSA adapts international topics related the United Nations (UN) like Refugees and home mates’ rights as a part of United Nations Sustainable Development Program (UNDP).
AMSA adapts “Against HIV-AIDS stigma” project as a part of the united nations program to eliminate AIDS and related stigma (UNAIDS).
Finally, and most important “International Medical Exchange), This program that allows student to explore different horizons of the world; AMSA hosts yearly about 30 foreigner students and provide them with accommodation, academic study program and clinical training. Not only that but also provide full social program in a country known to be number 1 in recommendation for tourism.

🔵 Nationally or internationally ✔ AMSA will continue to shine and glow, and if you think that these projects just mentioned are what AMSA does, then you should think again!!

AMSA –so is IFMSA- is like a the human body made from different systems and parts but all serve one aim; survival
For AMSA and IFMSA to keep going on there must be integration between their different committees to accomplish the very aim it was formed in the first place for “ A world with better medical career”
SO, let us proceed for the structure of AMSA, AMSA is made up by five committees that resemble in their actions the one body:
First and most important “SCOPE-SCORE”;
The Standing Committee on Profession Exchange – Standing Committee On Research Exchange, It resembles the soul of AMSA and the first committee that was ever formed in IFMSA .
The main concern of SCOPE SCORE is Medical Exchange, letting medical students travel throughout the world. Narrowing the cultural gap between people and spreading international peace and understanding. Needless to mention the extent of experience medical students can gain during exchange programs whether academic, clinical, cultural, spiritual and even life experiences. And as said “Travel more, live longer”
The seond committee and also was from first committees to be formed in IFMSA is “ SCOME” the Standing Committee On Medical Education. It resembles the thinking brain of AMSA.
As can be recognized from the name SCOME is concerned about development of medical education taking on action upon three dimensions; Medical students them selves, preparing and empowering them with needed skills to be qualified to carry on the medical career. Second, the educational program; always aiming to improve the educational process to guarantee maximum efficiency of medical education. Third, Medical research as we know there will be no meaning of any progress in medicine unless proved depending upon scientific research.
Third committee and also was the third committee to be formed is SCOPH – the Standing Committee On Public Health- which resembles the skeleton and muscles of AMSA.
It is concerned about public health issues; the major diseases within the community and how to deal with them, protection of vulnerable groups, preparing and launching surveys that serve many medical researches. SCOPH is main committee that deals directly with community reflecting the real image of the public health and spare no effort to improve it.
Our fourth committee or as we call it "The Red Spirit" is SCORA -Standing Committee On Reproductive health and Sexually transmitted diseases including AIDS-
It is concerned about reproductive health, Adolescent health, STDs and many other topics that concern with protection against right violation like child abuse, Female ge***al mutilation and Gender Based Violence. Many SCORA topics are sensitive and shed light on vital topics in community but, at the same time thier influence in the community is remarkable.
And our fifth committee and the beating heart of AMSA is SCORP -Standing Committee On human Rights and Peace-
It is concerned mainly protecting right for specific groups in the community like blind , deaf and dumb, eldery and orphans. Not only that but also SCORP plays a major role in reinforcing people with serious disease like cancer. Touching the influence of thier work progressively increasing day by day by increase in people awreness related to these topics.
Not to forget that SCORA and SCORP both adapt UNDP (United Nations Sustained Development Program) projects like GBV and Homemates and refugees respectively.
Different committtees, different visions, different misions but at the end it remains one golden target "Achieving the soul vision of AMSA of a world with better medical future"

AL-Azhar Medical Students Association (AMSA)
Is non-political, non-governmental and non-profit student organization in Al-Azhar University.
Constructed under the full supervision of deans of both boys` and girls` faculties and under supervision of university administration.
Since 2007,
AMSA has become a full member of the international federation of medical students` association- Egypt (IFMSA-Egypt) which in turn is a full member of International federation of Medical Student Association (IFMSA). Moreover, AMSA is a part of AL-Azhar, one of the most historical foundations and the third oldest university in the whole universe.
Since its foundation, AMSA has always had one vision; a world where all medical students are united for the welfare of the global health, armed with knowledge and skills to perform their leading roles nationally and internationally.
AMSA population -AMSA Nation as known- of medical students from different stages have only one thing in common; The endless passion to achieve the dream of change. All have the same inspiring vision that unites their efforts and direct them towards the same target “Better national and international medical future”.
Throughout Its journey, AMSA continued to care for community health problems, humanitarian issues, medical education and more important; medical exchange to carry its mission on attempt to offer medical students and other members of the community fair experience and sufficient skills to face the ever increasing challenges related to world health issues.
AMSA principles are fairly brief and clear; “Every single effort is appreciated and every opinion is considered, and our real value is never calculated by what we own but, by what we can give and share”. Based upon these principles and clear strategy of following global scientific facts and gaining international experience, AMSA continues to inspire medical students for about 11 years now, and still going on. Establishing in the minds of its population and other medical students the fact of “If you believe and you know, then you can and you will”

The white Desert ⭐🌟⭐

مجره درب التبانه ظاهره في سما الصحرا البيضا، الصحرا الغربيه ، مصر

update:
ناس كتير علقت على وجود نجوم ظاهره على احد الصخور في الصوره و بيقولو ان الصوره مش حقيقيه، للتوضيح:

اولا : الصوره دي عباره عن صورتين متجمعين فوق بعض و متصورين في نفس المكان بفرق حوالي ٧ ساعات، الصوره الاولى متصوره وقت الغروب - الشمس واضحه على شمال الصخره اللي بنتكلم عليها - و الصوره التانيه متصوره في نفس المكان بعد شروق ذراع المجره و انتصافه في السما.
الهدف من ال composite هو اظهار جمال وتفاصيل الصحرا وقت الغروب و كمان جمال ذراع المجره اللي بتتشاف بس في الاماكن اللي مافيهاش تلوث ضوئي زي اي صحرا ف اي حته ف العالم ولكن كأي مكان مظلم تفاصيل الصوره مش بتكون واضحه الا لو كانت الكاميرا والعدسه بمواصفات خاصه ماكانتش متوفره وقت التصوير ده، فا الحل اننا نتصرف عشان نوصل للتكوين اللي احنا عايزينه :D.

ثانياِ : المصوره من مصر و الصوره اتصورت في مصر في الصحرا البيضا والفوتوشوف هو برنامج الهدف منه تعديل الصور و مش عيب ان الواحد لو عنده فكره مختلفه انه يوضحها بالشكل اللي هو شايفه مفيد للصوره و كل المصورين في العالم بيستخدموه :) ، هو سمعته سيئه في مصر بس :)) ، بس معاكو حق و فقستو الغلطه اللي في الصوره.

ثالثاً : ايوه مانقدرش نشوف (المجره كامله) لاننا عايشين جواها وجزء منها، لكنها من الضخامه اننا ممكن نشوف جزء منها واضح في سما الكوكب الصغير بتاعنا، ولكن الوصف العلمي للجزء الظاهر في الصوره هوه ( احد اذرع المجره) لان درب التبانه هي spiral galaxy او مجره حلزونيه لها العديد من الاذرع و بنشوف منها اجزاء مختلفه على مدار السنه حسب موقع الارض بالنسبه للشمس وموقع الشمس بالنسبه للمجره ككل.

رابعاً : هل في حد غيرنا شايف الصخره اللي على شكل فيل صغير في الصوره ؟ :D :D

نتمنى نكون وضحنا الموضوع لكل اللي كان بيتساءل و تابعونا النهارده تاني هانوريكو صور تانيه للمجره من البحر الاحمر ان شاء الله تعجبكم. :D
