It's different!

Endoscopy of the small bowel is different. Diseases of the small bowel have several flavors, and their endoscopic signature is peculiar. However, different diseases can present with similar endoscopic pictures, while a single disease can present with multiple endoscopic ones. When you treat a patient with GERD remember that GERD is not a single disease. Mimics are many and GI and extraintestinal manifestations vary from patient to patient. I consider GERD a multi-faceted disease. With the UCHID meeting next Thursday, I will discuss this with my friends at Semiramis Hotel.
