Our team is led by one woman, on International woman’s day we like to take a moment to thank our director Hannah, our very own strong, fierce,independent woman who is building a business whilst also raising a family on this beautiful island. Without her strength and determination HCP Care would not exist and today we celebrate that on IWD.

As we look to change the face of care here in Tenerife we want to thank all those who have put in us the trust of a loved one. Thank you from the bottom of our heart.

Our care team is predominantly a woman’s led domain and we like to take the opportunity to thank our carers who go above and beyond each day and show the power of what women can do.

Dementia -

Did you know that in Spain over 900,000 people live with Dementia, in The UK, Its roughly 982,000 with increases in both countries expected. In the UK it unfortunately is the leading course of death.

There are several types of dementia, with the most common being Alzheimer's disease, vascular dementia, Lewy body dementia, and frontotemporal dementia whilst Parkinsons, Huntingtons disease and other illness do fall into the category.

Our role in providing care to those who suffer with the condition is to make sure that both them and their loved ones are aware of the many stages that a dementia sufferer can go through. It is important that both the sufferer and their family are supported.

Officially there are 7 stages of Dementia - Each stage can last a number of months / years - Each dementia client will progress differently but the key is to try and understand the effects of each stage as the condition progresses.

From initial tests to ascertain if further medical tests are required, to just simple help and advice on the condition, Our team are here to help.

As we already head into Febuary and beyond we are thankful for all those who like, share and continue to support the work we do for both Tourists and Residents, our team are working incredibly hard providing care to those in need, From Palliative care to Repatriations, Standard Home Care to Dementia care, our team can cover it all.

Can we ask for any tourists wishing to visit the island this summer who need care - Please contact us as soon as possible, Ideally we need 6-8 weeks notice to book our holiday clients in, After that we unable to guarantee being able to provide care services during your stay.

We already have tourist bookings for Feb/ March / April /May and September and we would not wish for you to go without appropriate care during your stay.

We want to take our time to thank our wonderful staff who always go above and beyond!

We would also like to show you a team photo from our Xmas Meal out, however it isn’t the picture we were hoping for. As a few minutes prior to the photographer lining us up, One of our staff members took a nasty fall inside the restaurant due to a wet floor.

Credit to our amazing team of carers and Nurses along with the paramedic team and the hospital, ensuring that our head carer was all ok (after a lovely few hours in hospital) and released with a nasty headache for a few days, some will do anything for an extra day off 🤭 but it was very much needed. As always our team rallied around and made sure all our wonderful clients were seen to confirming what an amazing team we have.

The Yellow warnings are in place through Thursday with schools closed for the arrival of Storm Claudia

🌩️ AEMET ha actualizado sus avisos para el miércoles añadiendo el aviso amarillo por tormentas organizadas en las islas occidentales.

☔️ Además incrementa el aviso a nivel naranja en el sur de Tenerife por fuertes lluvias que pueden dejar 100mm en 12h y 30mm en 1 hora. Añade también al norte de Tenerife por 20mm en 1 hora aunque con menor probabilidad.

💨 El viento será fuerte con rachas muy fuertes del SW especialmente en cumbres. Por eso activan aviso de nivel amarillo.

AEMET UPDATES ITS NOTICES

🌩️ AEMET has updated its warnings for Wednesday by adding the yellow warning for storms organized in the western islands.

☔️ It also increases the warning to the orange level in the south of Tenerife due to heavy rains that can leave 100mm in 12h and 30mm in 1 hour. Also add to the north of Tenerife by 20mm in 1 hour although with less probability.

💨 The wind will be strong with very strong gusts from the SW especially on summits. That's why they activate yellow level warning.
