Stress is very often the root of many people's problems, whether they recognize it or not. You'll often hear that someone is "under too much stress." You, too, may feel this way. But how can we manage this?
Just as bones and muscles need physical exercise to stay strong, we also need certain amounts of stress to stay healthy, but we need to be in control of our stressors and know what to do with it.
Identify your primary stressor. Alleviating the chief stressor in your life often creates a domino effect, wiping out or dramatically reducing other stressors in succession.
Make a realistic plan to address your biggest stressor and set a series of achievable short-term goals, allowing you to cleaely recognize progress as it's made.
Regular exercise can be a major tool to reduce stress. When performed correctly for your particular needs, exercise in the correct dose stimulates an anabolic environment (tissue growth and repair).
Eat and drink right. Internal stressors only serve to magnify external stressors. If you are not able to effectively replace the stress hormones you're using on a daily basis, you will only cause more stress to the body. Drink high-quality water and cook proper food at home, from scratch.
Mental exercise.
Try harmonizing your thoughts, words and actions with your goals. Doing so is a good example of beneficial mental or paychic stress. Make sure you're talking and thinking about what you do want, rather than what you don't.
Surround yourself with like-minded people as much as you can. But in real life you can't always choose and then it becomes important to stop getting offended. It's not your job to listen to everyone, change everyone or let them change you. Once in a while, not giving a fu** may be a good thing.
