Nutrigenomics Institute

Nutrigenomics Institute Institute of Nutrigenomics invites you to discover the latest developments around Nutrigenomics and Nutrigenetics.

That is why we have designed the most advanced and updated courses 100% online The Nutrigenomics Institute is an organization whose mission is to disseminate the disciplines of Nutrigenomics and Nutrigenetics aimed at both individuals and professionals. It has world-class experts in Nutrigenomics trained in the leading research universities in this field. The Training department is headed by Dr. David de Lorenzo, one of the largest international specialists with extensive experience in international research as in Houston or Munich. The Nutrigenomics Institute team is also formed by specialists in commercial and customer management services to provide the best experience and customer care, supported by the latest technological advances in online training. Our Nutrition is, probably, the main risk factor for our health when it comes to getting the most dangerous diseases of all those to which we are exposed to.

Genetics and vitamins for athletic performance: what to know and how to act.🤓

Why it matters.

Performance depends on both training and micronutrient availability . Genetics can modulate the levels, transport, or utilization of certain vitamins, and therefore, the response to training and supplementation . Personalized training based on genetics isn’t magic, but it does help prioritize what to measure and who to supplement.

A crucial switch in programmed cell death 🧐

A team of researchers from the Technische Universität München (TUM) together with Helmholtz Munich have identified a molecular mechanism capable of acting as a “switch” for apoptosis (programmed cell death), which could have applications in both oncology and neurodegenerative diseases.

The scientific work referenced in the article was published in Nature Communications under the title “Structural basis of apoptosis induction by the mitochondrial voltage-dependent anion channel” .

Autoimmune diseases and the genetic factor
🧐
Autoimmune diseases (AD) are a heterogeneous group of disorders in which the immune system mistakenly attacks the body’s own tissues. Their prevalence is significant—it is estimated that they affect between 7 and 10% of the world’s population. ( Frontiers )
The onset of an autoimmune disease is explained by the convergence of several factors: genetic predisposition, environmental triggers, and failures in the immune response control mechanisms. ( Frontiers )
Genetics plays a crucial role: it is not the only factor, but understanding it allows us to understand the mechanisms, estimate risks, improve diagnoses, and guide personalized therapies.

Complete DNA Sequencing (WGS 30×): The Revolution That Surpasses Traditional Genetic Testing.🧐

For years, genetic testing based on SNPs (single nucleotide polymorphisms) was the most widely used tool for identifying genetic predispositions related to health, nutrition, or physical performance. However, technology has advanced dramatically.
Today, complete DNA sequencing , also known as Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) 30x , represents a qualitative leap that redefines access to personal genetic information.

Possible risks or harms of taking probiotics and prebiotics

The gut microbiota (or gastrointestinal microbiome) is a complex ecosystem, with significant individual variability. The effects of supplementing with foreign strains or selectively stimulating it can depend strongly on each individual’s initial state. ( Frontiers )
Probiotics are live microorganisms (bacteria, sometimes yeast) that are intended to provide health benefits (e.g., to support intestinal balance). ( NCCIH )
Prebiotics are substrates (usually non-digestible fibers or fermentable carbohydrates) that “feed” beneficial bacteria in the gut . ( PMC )
Taking probiotics or prebiotics blindly , without knowing the status of your microbiota (or without diagnosing an imbalance), can carry risks or adverse effects in certain individuals. Below are the main arguments, supported by scientific literature.
