Less than a year ago, Freddy needed this wheelchair after injuring his hip.

🤍The story behind our name — Abbycare🤍

A lot of you may not know this, but we wanted to take a moment to share the story behind our company name.

Abbycare was named in loving memory of Abby — the daughter of our CEO, Karen.

Abby was an incredible young person. She was kind, bright, full of life, and deeply loved by everyone who knew her. Tragically, Abby lost her life at a young age after being involved in a cycling accident, which resulted in an acquired brain injury.

Out of unimaginable loss came a powerful desire to create something meaningful.

We set up the Abby Harding Memorial Foundation to raise awareness and vital funds to support others living with acquired brain injuries. But we wanted to do more — to make a lasting difference in people’s everyday lives.

And so, Abbycare was born.

We wanted Abby’s name to live on through kindness, compassion, and care. Today, we support people of all ages and across all care needs, delivering person-centred home care with dignity, respect, and warmth.

Everything we do is inspired by Abby’s memory and the values she represented. Her legacy lives on in every life we support, every family we help, and every carer who delivers care in her name.

This group offers support and information to both those with a diagnosis and their carers. I cannot recommend them highly enough and encourage anyone who is feeling isolated, stressed or just simply wants companionship and information to pop in for a cuppa and a chat.
