My beloved Dutch choir here in Spain has taken the step to exclude non-vaccinated members from singing. This is the first instance I have been directly affected by the 'vaccine passport' reality. Here is my response to these well-meaning people:

I am delighted that all of you enthusiastic voices are coming together again. Because the whole is truly greater than the sum of its parts.

I am not planning on putting foreign substances into my body if I have anything to say about it. I do not accept that this is a social obligation. Even though I have a friend who lost her father to covid19. I do not trust the medical authorities, who are clearly je**ed around by political powers and of course economic interests above all. I am old enough to remember the thalidomide disaster in the US. I am not aware of any evil intent but I do know that there is a spiritual battle going on. Those of you who have experienced my work have recognised the power that we have, built into us as human beings. I will not take any chances to jeopardize this in unknown ways.

I wear a mask indoors in public. I sing in another choir. I try not to re-act out of fear but rather pro-act on the basis of my trusted intuition. I am not asking anyone else --except maybe my children-- to trust my judgment, but to go within and listen to the miraculous instrument which is the human in the human being. Then we all can take the opportunity to grow that presents itself in this strange time.

It's so gratifying to experience how we are waking up, as if from a long and deep sleep, to recognise the power of touch. Our innate human intelligence continues to seek out what's good for us, when we pause, and listen. Making space for ourselves and for each other allows us to feel the hunger for what we have been missing. I see this both on and off the table.

I'm spending a month in Wivenhoe, England, and I am bowled over by the genuine warmth of the residents with which I am welcomed, every day. It's enough to restore my faith in human nature. After Brexit I wasn't so sure. Now I can see it's all part of the healing.
