From Math-Profile to Practice: Comprehensive Assessment and Ecological Intervention in Dyscalculia.
The European Dyslexia Association (EDA) is proud to present a webinar to explore this topic to celebrate Dyscalculia Day on March 3, at 7pm CET. This 90 minute webinar aims to promote evidence-based understanding of dyscalculia through real educational practice, longitudinal data, and collaboration between researchers, educators, and families, in alignment with the mission of the European Dyslexia Association.
Dr. Giannis Karagiannakis will present a longitudinal, school-based examination of dyscalculia through anonymised case studies of students meeting diagnostic criteria for dyscalculia, followed over a two-year period within mainstream educational settings. Drawing on the framework proposed by the EDA Academic Dyscalculia Committee, the session will outline the core components of a comprehensive dyscalculia profile, including number sense, symbolic processing, arithmetic reasoning, executive functions, visuospatial skills, and learning dynamics over time.
