This week I asked what your main skin concerns are and 50% of people are mostly concerned with hydration and ageing. Both are dependent on a heathy skin barrier.

When the skin barrier is intact and heathy, it helps to keep skin hydrated and to tackle premature ageing. When it’s not, moisture can escape from the deeper layers of skin and contributes to dehydrated skin and the appearance of ageing.

Lily and I met on Tuesday 27th January. She’s recently arrived in Barcelona and had medical treatment for acne in her teens but had been clear for 5 years until this most recent mild flare up. This time, the acne is under her chin and along her neck where it’s never been before. It was inflamed and too tempting not to pick.

After a good chat during her consultation, I carried out a Bespoke Facial and made sure to include High Frequency, blue light LED, and I selected calming and anti-inflammatory products to help to calm her skin.

Lily went home with a simple and mindfully selected home skincare routine which she’s been consistent with for 7 days and has shared her progress today.

In Lily’s words:

“My skin looks SO much better. Thank you so much for the products they have been helping my breakout areas a lot. They’re all completely flat just a bit of scarring from the ones I picked prior to seeing you.”

We’ll meet again in a couple of weeks and will hopefully see further progress towards clear, healthy skin.

One facial and one week of quality skincare doesn’t mean we’re done - it does demonstrate though that skin responds to high performance products and in-studio modalities that are not harsh nor stripping.

This is me:

June 2024, aged 39 and freshly qualified in skincare.

July 2025, aged 40 and slowly becoming consistent with quality skincare.

I’m SO happy with the changes seen here and since then.

From June 2024 to July 2025 I see:
~ improved hydration
~ plumper skin
~ reduced pigmentation
~ tired skin looking much more glowy

These changes are the result of finally realising that being consistent with quality skincare is a big part of what skin needs to be healthy ~ not perfect.

I’ve kept it simple:
~ cleanser
~ enzyme exfoliation
~ customised serum ( which changes as my skin improves)
~ hydrating cream
~ LED
