3D-SHAPER (3D-DXA Technology)

3D-SHAPER was developed by researchers and engineers specialized in bio-mechanics and bone imaging, initially working within The University Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona). The company, Galgo Medical, was incorporated in 2013 to leverage the development of applications to better serve the medical industry and optimize patients’ outcomes, by providing targeted tools to physicians.

3D-SHAPER was born the next years - after further developments of the premises of 3D-DXA technology developed at the University - and has been CE Certified since then, to allow its use by physicians in daily practice. They can now evaluate the bone density distribution of their patients’ hip, from standard DXA scan. The 3D analysis of the hip provide insightful information regarding bone strength, likelihood to fracture or not, as well as precise information related to response to bone-impacting treatment, such as osteoporosis treatments.
