Harvested, first batch, 5 Oct, the batch was small but we tripled, the investment, in the Gem Glass Corn, so next year´s harvest will hopefully be twice as big ....Still guaranteed, no canser promoting GMO.....future looks brighter.

Started out on new 100 % original blood red corn from The delta Ebre. Red Maiz from befor there were pesticides and GMO.
We keep them 100 % isolated, growing first batch, ready for distribution, 1 now 2014.

Gem Corn.

Plant Type: Annual

Light: Full Sun

Soil Type: Rich, well drained soil. **Corn is a very demanding heavy-feeder- enrich soil with compost before planting**

Planting: Plant seeds 1/2 to 1" deep in a BLOCK 6" to 1' apart. When soil temperatures reach at least 55 degrees F. It will pop up in 5-7 days. I plant each seed 1' from the others all around- I do not plant more and then thin- I feel this is a waste of seed. I enjoyed 100% germination last year- a family of ducks came through and pulled a few- I replanted 3 and one was destroyed- I simply sowed a new seed. The plant was behind and did not harvest with the rest, however put out tassels and pollen in the right place!

Glass Gem Care: this corn is grown like others- but it has a long 110 day cycle. I feed my Glass Gem Corn with fish emulsion and compost tea- very diluted for a long slow release- and my soil is enriched with compost I make myself- you can buy compost or get manure for free! When your plants reach 6" in height- hill up the soil around each to protect the roots and keep them cool. Go ahead and research a bit on self pollination- I tried this this year for fun- but as long as you have a breeze and bees nature will take its course. I didn't want to take any chances and wanted to get the best colors and cross pollination I could. I noticed each plant produced ears that were similar, but their next-door-neighbors were completely different.

TO SAVE SEED: Although its tempting to harvest when the silks turn brown- DON'T! If you want to save this seed- you must let the plants and ears dry on the stalks. I did some peeking, however it is important to let these seeds dry out completely.

Idag har vi modtaget de første "GLASSCORN" fra vores mexicanske forbindelse, disse korn har deres oprindelse i den originale u besmittede MAIZ med mangefarvede korn. Fra et helt sikkert ikke GMO MOSANTO inficerende, kornkammer. de er allerede nu udplantet i sikre omgivelser og skal skabe basen for korn/frø til distribution på det åbne marked. Således at vi også i fremtiden kan garantere GMO frit mais, til den næste generation.
