Welcome to the Nutrition Counsellor page. My name is Kim Gray and I am a qualified and registered Nutritionist . I am also certified to Practitioner level in NLP, and have a diploma in Weight Loss Counselling. My absolute passion is helping people regain control over their bodies by exploring what they eat, and also why they eat it. Nutrition and weight management are subjects incredibly personal and significant to me. My own journey through life, learning how to manage both a chronic auto-immune condition and my difficult relationship with food, led me to begin studying Nutrition and counselling. The resulting knowledge I have gained has given me a huge empathy with my clients and a deep understanding of symptoms poor nutrition can trigger. Food is such a powerful presence in all our lives, and what we eat has an enormous effect on both our physical and mental health. Poor nutrition can lead to an imbalance in body and mind, leaving us vulnerable to disease, but the right foods together with targeted supplements can gently ease us back into balance, substantially reducing the symptoms of chronic illness and making us happier and healthier. Digestive problems, IBS and diabetes, PMT and menopause, chronic fatigue and skin problems, arthritis, fibromyalgia and joint pain may all be improved with individually tailored Nutritional Therapy. Weight management can be one of the most complex and difficult issues that we face today. It is often as much related to emotions we feel as to the food we eat, so I believe strongly that long term weight control can only be achieved by a combination of nutritional understanding and non-judgemental counselling designed to challenge and change behaviour around food. Diets don’t work, but educating yourself about healthy eating and learning to understand your relationship with food does. Yay! It’s finally Friday… and in the campo kitchen tonight it’s a big vat of no waste veggie chilli. All those end of week, slightly limp vegetables grated into the pot with canned tomatoes, beans, spices and a big glug of red wine. Cheap, cheerful and healthy… what more could you want? Lovely day today with new and old clients, one of whom has lost an amazing 25 kilos on my lower carb plan 😍😍😍. So - Have you worked out yet how much I adore Indian food??? 😋. My version of saag paneer but with tofu … paneer is impossible to get here and why use dairy when tofu tastes exactly the same? Just waiting for the boys to get home to serve… 🙄😃😩.

How’s your January so far? I absolutely can’t be doing with the feelings of deprivation and depression that come with the usual New Year resolutions so for me, instead of taking things away - I’m all about adding new things in! A little more walking, trying some different recipes and I’m even going to try pilates ( 😳). And today for the first time I made vegan, raw millionaire’s shortbread… just nuts, oats, coconut oil, 95% chocolate and dates … oh my goodness - I like these types of resolutions 😀😋😍
