If you fancy a “muesli” for breakfast or as snack do it the healthy way.

A muesli can help you heal and has amazing health benefits. However if you use the wrong ingredients it rather harms than helps.

If you use dairy and if you are buying cereals loaded with sugar and additives then that’s not considered healthy.

If you consider doing cereals you self, as I shared in my last story, if you just use nuts, any kind of seeds, especially flax seeds, top it with berries and use coconut yogurt as base, then we safely can speak about a healthy breakfast.

But keep in mind that muesli is not the right choice for people suffering from IBS or any king of gut disorder.

Carbs, proteins and fats are digested at different times. Fruits - eaten alone - are digested within 30 minutes. If you combine them with proteins they might get stuck in your digestive track and cause bloating and pain. The body is not making any difference here.

So only if you are sure about that the muesli won’t harm you, go for it.

If not eat fruits on an empty stomach 30 minutes before you have a second breakfast, which can be nuts and seeds on coconut yogurt.

This is the only way for me to get my vitamin intake naturally. I must say I was never a big fan of fruits. Most likely because I was suffering from fructose intolerance since I’m a child. Never understood why my friends had fresh orange juice for breakfast, doing something healthy, when I was cramping and running to the toilet. It took me a while to find the culprit of that story and to finally heal it. When you are young you don’t have a clue that fruits which are healthy can not only bother but also harm you. Leaving a fructose intolerance unhealed can lead to leaky gut and with it more health issues arise. I can cope with fruits now. However, I feel more comfortable enjoying them in a smoothie. Crushing the fruit beforehand helps me to digest it more easily.

💡Did you know that fruits should be eaten alone and on an empty stomach? Due to their high amount of water they leave your stomach faster than proteins or fats. Their digestive time is about 30 min. After that you can continue your breakfast as usual without worrying that something is fermenting in your stomach causing flatulence

Here is an idea for an anti-inflammatory dinner. Various veggies with organic chicken. It’s prepared in 15 minutes. Very healthy and tasteful.

Cut the veggies of your choice in big pieces

Cut the organic chicken in pieces and marinate with lemon juice, olive oil, salt & pepper and herbs of your choice

Place on an oven tray with baking paper, spice with salt and olive oil.

Bake in the oven for about 30-40 min (depending on veggies)

If you are wondering why I am posting pics about mountain biking, snorkeling, nature, family, and friends and not only food pics as nutritionists do, then here is my answer: A balanced healthy and happy life does not only come through food. To stay healthy and treat sicknesses food is key … no doubt. Because everything you put into your body influences it.

But also important are other pillars. Such as exercise, relaxation, sleep, nature, and spending time with your loved ones. From a holistic point of view this keeps your body, mind, and soul in balance and therefore healthy. Just wanted to mention that because I have heard so many times separate your private life from your professional one. No! As I said everything you do has an impact on your health.

But here is another food pic ;-) (By the way I don’t want to win an award with these pics. More important for me is the content of the post)

This beautiful sweet potato is stuffed with dhal, topped with parmesan cheese and garnished with parsley. With it comes a raw red cabbage and carrot salad. In this vegetarian dish you will find all macronutrients. Carbohydrates (complex), protein and fat. All of them are necessary for a balanced, digestible meal. Hormones gone crazy? Hormone imbalance can be expressed in some interesting ways. Maybe you’re constantly tired, or maybe you can’t remember tasks or perform mentally like you used to. Maybe you’re feeling down or suddenly unable to lose weight. You’re not alone.
