I completed my Registered Massage Therapist program in 2012 in Vancouver, Canada. This program was 27 months, full time and consisted of 3000 hours in-school learning as well as 300 hours minimum hands on learning. My practicum hours consisted of working at the in-school clinic providing massage and hydrotherapy services, treating patients in the Burns and Plastics Unit at Vancouver General Hospit
al and at GF Strong Rehabilitation Center, Vancouver. There were also numerous opportunities to provide post event massage to athletes (marathons, cycling events etc), and various other patients (care homes etc). Upon obtaining my Diploma, I proceeded to work in physiotherapy clinics in Vancouver. This gave me further experience with various athletes as well as providing general massage treatments. In 2014 we moved to London, UK and I worked at a clinic called Six Physio. I worked in two of their clinics, one in Leadenhall and the other in Chelsea. Naturally, I treated many people with back pain from having desk bound jobs but were also ‘weekend warriors.’ A number of my clients were training for marathons and iron mans. After 4 years spent in London we decided to move to Auckland, New Zealand. During this time I made connections with a running coach at Get Running and worked alongside him. I also worked at a physiotherapy clinic called Be Physio providing massage services. Shortly after I took maternity leave for the birth of my daughter. I now also have a son and am returning back to massage therapy. I enjoy working one on one with each client and each treatment is tailored to what the client needs. I believe massage is beneficial for the body’s physical needs but can also be helpful for emotional needs such as decreasing stress and anxiety. Whether you are struggling with headaches, various muscle pains or tensions, or just want to relax and have a good massage, I am happy to help.
