❄️ SEASONAL YIN ❄️ WATER & WINTER ❄️ SEAL
🔹️ THE WATER ELEMENT. In Chinese Medicine winter is the season of the Water Element.
🔹️ THE ORGANS for the Water are kidneys and urinary bladder. They are the gate of vitality.

▫️ Element: Water
▫️ Taste: Salty
▫️ Meridians & Organs: kidneys and urinary bladder
▫️ Emotion: Fear - Insecurity - Weakness -> Trust - Hope - Wisdom - Willpower
🔹️ THE MERIDIANS of kidneys and urinary bladder run in the back of the body. It is the target area of the asanas of Seasonal Yin for the Water.

🔹️ SEAL
TIME: 1-3 minutes
MERIDIAN: kidneys, bladder, stomach
TARGET: lower back, spine, hip flexors, thighs, the front of the body,
BENEFITS: stimulates the kidneys & the kidney & bladder meridians, activates the tissues in the lower back, stretches the frontal body, hip flexors, psoas, thighs
PROPS: a blanket
VARIATIONS: half sphinx - shift the other thigh on the side near the hip, bend the knee
🔹️ HOW: Lie on your belly on the floor and raise your upper body with your hands lifting your torso up, so that your hands are mat-width apart. Straighten your arms. Relax the neck by lowering the gaze.
Open your legs wider than your hips and try to relax them, buttocks and abdomen.
You may place a blanket under your pelvis.
If you feel too much pressure on the lower back, move your hands slightly forward to decrease the arch of the back to reduce the intensity of the pose.
You may also activate the buttocks a bit to support the lower back.
Stay from one to three minutes with mindful breath.
Come out of the posture slowly and have a short rebound.
🔹️ USE OF PROPS: a blanket under the pelvis, if needed
