Hatha practices are designed to align and calm your body, mind, and spirit
To help strengthen your physical body safely whilst relaxing into postures. The focus is physical and mental, encouraging a sense of holistic awareness of ourselves. The Hatha classes typically begin with a short relaxation, followed by sun salutations, and a variety of structured asanas. The class ends in savasana with a meditation or relaxation. Yin yoga is a very mindful yoga practice, holding basic postures for 3-10 minutes. The physical practice aims to stimulate the connective tissue in our body, repairing and strengthening joints, ligaments, muscle etc. Yin Yoga is a perfect complement to the dynamic and muscular (yang) styles of yoga and sport that emphasize internal heat, and the lengthening and contracting of our muscles. Yin Yoga generally targets hips, pelvis, and lower spine. The Yin classes typically begin with a short meditation, followed by a variety of long held structured postures (mainly on the floor). The classes often follow a set theme, specifcally targeting an area (spine, legs etc and corresponding meridian channels) and ends with a relaxation or meditation.
