THE CYCLES OF LIFE
As I was cycling up to Istan on this sunny morning, I got to thinking how everything in life is made up of cycles. Summer to autumn then winter and then spring, before the cycle of life starts over again. The endless cycle of day/night.

We have our own cycles that keep us trapped where we are.

Have you ever wondered how you seem to attract the same situations in your life, or the same people or partners that test your patience, or how you keep making the same mistakes or acting the same way. We keep having the same thoughts over and over again.

You can change countries, jobs, partners etc …. Only the same thoughts will circle back to put you back to where you were.

You are on the endless cycle that relates to your beliefs that you have regarding events that happened in the past and the emotions you attach to them.

You can re-cycle those beliefs about the thoughts and the feelings you had relating to events of the past and change the outcomes. Or would you rather spend the rest of your life cycling in the same direction when there are so many options in life.

We all remember the film Groundhog Day. Some poeple are happy to live that way or would would your rather have the life of freedom of choice and break the cycle to realise your potential.

You have the chance to re-cycle those old beliefs into new ones.
Clinical Hypnotherapy can help break the old cycle of those beliefs that keep you trapped on the treadmill.

WHEN THE WHEEL OF LIFE STOPS ROLLING

Some people may not be aware of the Wheel of Life, most of us compartmentalise our live into different segments so that it looks like a bicycle wheel with its spokes. Those segments will be split into various areas such as - health, business, relationships etc… There maybe 8-10 segments

WHEN IT STARTS TO GO WRONG
So what happens when on segment is not functioning as well as it should- well you end up with a bit tougher ride. In the case of a cycle wheel if one on the spokes breaks you may be lucky the the wheel runs out of line and is touching on the brake pads making your ride slower and tougher though still able to function.
Likewise the impact on your wheel of life may not be too noticeable if one areas is not going as well as it should, and things may be a bit bumpy

COMPLETE HALT
If two spokes on my wheel break, then I have a major problem. In most cases the wheel buckles and I come to a grinding halt. Which has happened, gratefully I was going uphill, though still unnerving, better than happening going downhill.

Your wheel of life can be the same, if you have a major problem- eg health- this can impact on all areas of your life such as business, relationships, family etc…

Below I have an empty photo of the Wheel of Life. Feel free to copy it and fill in the areas of your life, then go from zero to 10- zero being the worst and 10 being the best- be very honest with yourself to see in area you require attention.

CYCLING AND YOUR GOALS

Many of us have achieved goals in our lives and many of us have not achieved goals in our lives.

GOALS can likened to cycling up to my favourite village. It is a short term goal that contributes to a long term goal of optimum health. The ride is fairly short ( short term goal to reach Istán ) and the same time looks after my heart( long term goal)

When starting your goals, initially getting going can be tough a bit like the first part of my ride which is two very short climbs of about 14%

Once over the 2 climbs things become relatively easier though I am still working and climbing and your goals are the same.

Then all of a sudden your on a roll things become easier, a bit like going downhill at speed

Before your thoughts throw you a curveball and things get tough, a bit like getting to the bottom of a downhill stretch, going around a bend to find another short climb

Then sometimes your goals make you feel like you’re going back the way you came, similar to traversing the hill as you make your way around the hill.

Then your destination is in sight ( the village of Istan) though it is not your real destination, merely a stepping stone to the long term goal.

Your long term goal should be big enough to excite you and large enough that you may never attain it- it’s who you become while going for it. At the same time small stepping stones are great for resilience and perseverance

There will be days when it’s tough and the environment makes it interesting- a bit like cycling up the hill when it’s windy or it decides to rain when your 3/4 there.

Other times you decide to take it easy and have great achievements, other days you will feel great and it feels like a hard slog.

THE PAIN OF UNMET GOALS
We often talk about leaving our comfort zone in order to achieve our goals only how many of you choose to stay in the pain of having goals unmet and a self-imposed prison with the lack of freedom.
Did you know the pain of having unmet goals can show up in three areas of your life -emotionally, physically, and spiritually as a result of beliefs or values that you are holding on to that no longer serve you and are unwanted. EMOTIONALLY
This can show up a stress leaving you tense
anxious an unable to relax your relationships suffer,
your moods become unstable and with an unwillingness to look for support
leading to emotional tiredness and the sense of not being seen or being appreciated which also leads to lack of motivation.
PHYSICALLY
Your behaviours can also change leading to drinking, smoking, drugs, nail biting, etc…
food cravings which then leads to weight gain.
Immune system compromised
Frequent illness, headaches
Various aches and pains, frequent injuries

Sports Massage Therapy

Grant Foster has been a highly qualified Sports Therapist since 1997 and spent 3 years as a Tutor of Sports Massage. Not only that, as a former member of the Sports Massage Association, his experience has brought him in contact with celebrity athletes whilst working in areas such as filming the TV Show Gladiators; Stoke City Football Team; Hiberian Football team and the 2003 IAAF World Indoor Athletics.
