Over time, my work has been quietly refining.

What began as Casa de Alegría has gradually revealed a deeper structure, not a change in direction, but a clearer articulation of what has always been here.

This is now held under the name Awakening Within.

Awakening Within is an integrative field for conscious awakening and remembering.

My work remains the same in essence, though it is now expressed with greater clarity.

It continues to support those who sense a deeper shift unfolding in their lives and who are willing to meet that process with honesty, presence, and discernment.

Casa de Alegría remains the physical setting in Spain where in-person work is hosted.

Awakening Within is the field that holds the work itself, across writing, practice, immersion, residency, and mentoring.

There is no need to follow or understand everything at once.
If you are already here, you are welcome to continue as you are.
If you are arriving for the first time, you are welcome to begin quietly.

When the Love Light Returns,
Movement in Kapha Season

As we reach the end of February, the signs of spring are beginning to appear, subtle, but undeniable. The light lingers a little longer, the air softens, and something within us may also be quietly shifting.

In this reflection, I share a little more personally about how this winter has felt for me, the transition from the Year of the Snake into the Year of the Horse, and how a simple song arrived at just the right moment to remind me that even a small spark can carry us forward. Continuing Kapha Season

Kapha season invites us deeper into stillness, reflection, and listening beyond words. As winter continues to hold us, this is a gentle continuation of the recent Kapha Season reflection, exploring how sound, music, and feeling can meet us where thinking cannot.

The truth shall set you free… revisited

As 2025 draws to a close, I have been reflecting on my first social media post of 2025 called “The truth shall set you free” (see below).

During 2025 we have been in the energy of THE YEAR OF THE SNAKE, a shedding of old, ready to step into THE YEAR OF THE HORSE, new beginnings.

2025 is the year that I decided to be fully alive and live my existence. I stepped into my shadow so I could step out of my shadow. I will be sharing more about this soon.

I would like to thank each and every person in my life for helping me on my journey, my family, my friends, my clients and everyone in between.

I moved from fear to love in 2025 and now I am ready to get back on my horse and gallop forwards to 2026…..are you ready for your new beginning? It’s coming anyway.

“2025 is the year of truth, during these times everything is coming up and being exposed for healing. Are you ready for it? Remember that we are part of the collective consciousness. The more we purify ourselves, the more the world purifies.

How often have you said something you know to be untrue? Maybe you have said it so many times it becomes your truth? Is there anything you need to be more truthful about with yourself or others? If you have something you are hiding, get ahead of the game and speak your truth before it is revealed in a more catastrophic way.

As truth is exposed this year, be open minded to what you hear, use your emotional intelligence and your power of discernment to get out ahead of any untruths in your life.”

I made pasta for the first time and it was so easy to make. I have the complication of being gluten free so I have been working on my own GF flour blend. I can’t believe how at home I felt rolling the dough. I can make a bigger batch next time and freeze the remainder as it lasts for 1 month in the freezer. I always felt bloated and uncomfortable after eating shop bought pasta. This dough has only two ingredients, eggs and flour. Now count up all the ingredients in the shop bought dried pasta and I doubt I will ever go back to that crap. It’s totally worth the effort! 🍝🇮🇹

Winter Solstice Ceremony

Last night we gathered to celebrate the Winter Solstice. We spent time in soulful community, reflecting, sharing and releasing.

Sipping the powerful Ayurvedic drink of Golden Milk, we harnessed the powerful Solstice energies, helping us to bridge the gap from 2025 (the year of endings and truth) to 2026 (the year of new beginnings).

WE ASKED OURSELVES:
Who am I becoming?
What new direction is calling me?
What new path is opening under my feet?
What new light do I want to carry forward?
What am I ready to release from this year?

During the fire ceremony, we made offerings of flowers and herbs to release old patterns of behaviour and stepped bravely into a new way of being that is open to change and new possibilities. We chanted together to the sound of a shamanic drum, and finished the evening with a sound journey and deep relaxation.

The shortest, darkest day is behind us, we have turned the tide of darkness back to light and now step forwards with purpose, each day getting longer.

Caramelised onion chutney is ready 🧅. Great for soups, stews, cheese and dressings.

We invited a dear friend over for a birthday dinner and I asked him what his favourites dessert was. Tirimasu he said. I haven’t made that for over 20 years so it was time to research a new recipe. I made the sponge myself rather than use shop bought where you can’t be sure of the ingredients. This is the result. We liked it so much I created a chocolate sponge one today. Definitely not food as medicine, this one is an indulgent treat for special occasions ❤️🇮🇹❤️
