12 ways to make decisions when you’re overthinking everything 💙

1. Write down the actual decision you're trying to make.
2. Separate facts from any fears you have
3. Notice whose voice is in your head. Yours? Someone else’s?
4. Decide what really matters to you.
5. Ask what you'd choose if you weren't trying to please everyone.
6. Look at the cost of staying where you are.
7. Look at the cost of changing.
8. Remember that most decisions aren’t permanent. You can change again.
9. Which option that gives you more energy.
10. You don’t need to keep asking for others opinions.
11. Accept that uncertainty is part of most good decisions.
12. Just choose the next step. Not the whole journey

These thinking patterns are incredibly common, especially when you’re tired, overwhelmed or carrying a lot.

They don’t mean you are doing life wrong, they simply mean your mind is trying to make sense of things quickly.

Awareness is powerful, but it can also be soft.

The feeling you get when you’re near water.

The shift and change of perspective.

The way the sunlight dances on water. The joy it can bring. A reminder of childhood adventures and fun.

The reminder that we’re part of something bigger. Being more attached to nature. The changing tides. The strength of the sea and the way it can change its environment. The ebb and flow.

The way it gives me a challenge every morning to get into cold water to start the day feeling stronger. It encourages me to get outside get away from the screen. It can have a pull of community going into the sea together or even an ice bath.

The changing energy. A beautiful still calmness one day and then a powerful storm the next.

Postcards from February 💌

LAURA: The feeling I get in February is hope returning to my bones! No matter how well prepped I am for January, it inevitably feels challenging by the end - but February is a balm! The light begins to return, snowdrops burst through the soil and perhaps even the occasional crocus. I’m not quite ready to come out of hibernation but I can feel a rumbling of energy returning. This month I spent time in Portugal, caught up with family, worked with some wonderful clients and launched Wake & Move. The morning movement has so far been a delight: shaking off the dusty bones slowly and gently and connecting with community.

As usual not so many photos but a few more than January!:

1- A February escape to Glen Orchy
2-3 A Full moon camp fire 🌕
4- Waking up to stags sleeping
5- A very wet and windy trip to Portugal
6- Storm damage
7- Home to a happy but tired pup 🐾

NIKITA: I don’t know where this past month has gone. The wet, wild, and windy weather has eventually given way to a little bit of sunshine and a sneak peek at Spring here and there, which I am more than ready for at this point! I’d fallen out of my morning movement routine after catching one of the many bugs doing the rounds, but I’ve enjoyed being back at it this week with Laura’s morning classes. It’s amazing how the lack of getting outside - and especially when you wfh - the lack of daily steps can get to you, so after a couple of sunny walks this week, I’m looking forward to getting moving again. On the Blue Spaces side, we’re now fully booked for another retreat, we’ve just launched a new course and classes, and are onboarding another two coaching clients. Complaining about the weather over. It’s been a pretty decent month 😊
