Rooted in nervous system regulation and whole-body balance. About Suzanne – Suaimhneas Natural Health

Welcome to Suaimhneas Natural Health! I’m Suzanne, the founder and heart behind this holistic wellness practice. Originally from the serene coastal village of County Kerry, Ireland, I’ve always found peace by the sea. My journey into health and wellness began 10 years ago with a 4-year BSc (Hons) in General Nursing. As a registered General Nurse, I’ve combined my medical knowledge with holistic practices to offer a unique approach to health. I’m now a licensed Acupuncturist and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practitioner, having recently completed a 3-year Diploma in Acupuncture and TCM in Dublin, Ireland. My passion for holistic health led me to volunteer in Nepal for 3 months with an NGO, providing free primary care through acupuncture and TCM—a deeply enriching experience. In addition to my acupuncture practice, I completed my Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) in India. I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to teach yoga in Kerala, India, and Sri Lanka, further solidifying my commitment to a holistic and integrative approach to health and wellbeing. At Suaimhneas Natural Health, I aim to support your body’s innate wisdom to self-heal through acupuncture, TCM, and yoga, fostering a sense of peace, calmness, and balance. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about how these practices can benefit you. Take care, Suzanne 🍃

A new chapter 🌿

When I first created this space, I named it Suaimhneas Natural Health. Suaimhneas is an Irish word meaning peace and tranquility. It reflected my Irish roots and the intention behind my work.

Over the past few years, I’ve travelled, lived, practised acupuncture and taught yoga in different parts of the world. Through that journey, I felt a change and to choose a name that feels more universal. Something that expresses the heart of my work in a way that can be understood wherever you are.

Welcome to Soma with Suzanne.

Soma means “the living body.”
The felt sense of being.
The place where breath, movement, energy and healing meet.

🍃 Yoga invites us into the body.
🍃 Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) sees the body as an interconnected system of energy (Qi).
🍃 Acupuncture restores balance within that system.

My work has always been about returning to your body.

The intention remains the same. To support your body, nervous system, and your overall health and wellbeing, through Yoga, Acupuncture and TCM.

Welcome to this new chapter ✨

Where attention goes, energy flows.

In yoga, energetic anatomy and Ayurveda and Prana, our life-force energy moves in five directions within us.

✨ Prana Vayu lifts and inspires.
✨ Apana Vayu roots and releases.
✨ Samana Vayu gathers and transforms at our center.
✨ Udana Vayu rises and helps us express.
✨ Vyana Vayu expands and connects everything together.

This mornings vinyasa flow in the beautiful space of was focused on our energy. Reminding students that each time we enter a space, we bring our energy with us. And the beautiful thing is it isn’t fixed. We have the power to shift our energy (Prana/Qi) through breath, attention and asana.

How can you tap into your energy today and bring full attention to your mind, body and soul?

New beginnings with the ritual of gathering around a fire, a reminder that transformation begins within us🔥✨

In many yogic and Vedic traditions, the fire ceremony (often inspired by Agni, the sacred fire in Hindu philosophy) represents purification, intention, and renewal. Fire doesn’t just burn, it transforms. It turns what no longer serves us into ash and light.

The red dot placed above the eyebrows, known as the bindi is traditionally worn in India. It symbolises the Ajna (third eye) chakra, the center of intuition, inner wisdom, and awareness. It’s a reminder to look inward, to see beyond distraction, and to move from a place of deep knowing.

Hands on assists can become more than an alignment, it’s trust, connection, and silent communication with the teacher and student.

A mindful assist can create space, deepen awareness, and remind us that yoga is a shared experience, passed down from the teachers before us. It is an important role as yoga teachers to be gate keepers of this wonderful asana and yoga practise, respecting its roots, wisdom and deep knowledge.

The last few months I have had the privilege of deepening my knowledge of hands on Ashtanga assists under strong teachers at

I am very grateful for the guidance and the growth the last few months. The beauty is knowing the learning does not stop. ✨

Repetition & Awareness

In yoga, mastery doesn’t come from doing more, it comes from doing again, with awareness.

Repetition creates familiarity in the body, but awareness transforms that familiarity into wisdom.

Each time we return to a posture, a breath, or a moment of stillness, I invite you to notice: What’s different? What’s the same? What am I hoding? What can I soften?

Our practise is not striving for perfection, but to deepen our study of ourselves.

Jump backs and jump throughs have a way of revealing strength, imbalance, effort, and ego.

Core strength, hip flexor engagement, balance, and trust are all challenged in these movements.

Some days feel light, some days feel heavy, but the most important part is showing up.

Practice always keeping me humble and curious, always learning. ✨

Rituals ask us to slow down.
To mark time.
To create meaning in the spaces where life can otherwise rush past us.

Rituals remind us that simple acts can be sacred when done with presence.

A ritual doesn’t need rules or perfection. For me, my ritual is movement. Each yoga practise I meet myself on my mat where I am in that moment, and thank my body for allowing me to move freely.

As this year closes, I invite you to find your ritual.
The one that grounds you when things feel uncertain.
The one that brings you back into your body, your breath, your moment.

Let it be simple. Let it be yours. ✨

The pause is a place of power, go there often ✨
