No one flower that blossoms is the same and no one plant or tree on the entire planet is the same. They are all unique within one earth family, reflecting the human community. When I started tuning into the flowers and the blossoms, feeling their experience, as they absorb the sun, as they receive and channel all the energy from the universe, as satellites angled towards the sky receive information, I became more aware of the healing power within them.

Blossoms, flowers and plants receive the information contained within them from their environment. Absorbing nutrients and water from the soil, and soaking in the sunlight and rain from the sky. Like sacred mandalas their symmetry mirrors the cosmic beauty above.

Sunlight has travelled over a hundred million kilometres through space to the planet, to grace their petals. As the plants, the butterflies, the bees and the birds, we too have structures of photonic light similar to that of the sun inside our cells. We mirror the energy and make up of the Universe.

When you next doubt yourself, think of the flowers, the bees and the blossoms. Think of their presence, patience and never-ending commitment. Connect to their compassion, beauty and kindness, all their sweet nectar that they produce for the bees, butterflies and insects. All of their medicine and knowledge they bring to us.

In Ayurveda, spring is considered an ideal time for detoxification, as it is the season of change, cleansing and renewal. During this time, the body naturally works to release accumulated toxins, and a herbal detox with herbs that you'll find growing right under nose in the garden can support this process. Herbs like dandelion, nettle, red clover, willow, field mustard, cleaver, and broadleaf plantain are especially beneficial in spring since they germinate and blossom naturally in Europe and the Northern Hemisphere.

Dandelion and nettle are excellent for cleansing the liver and kidneys, promoting the elimination of waste and toxins. Red clover supports the lymphatic system, helping to clear stagnant fluids and purify the blood. Willow is known for its anti-inflammatory properties, aiding in reducing excess heat and inflammation in the body. Field mustard stimulates circulation and can help release deep-seated toxins, while cleaver is a powerful herb for lymphatic detoxification and overall cleansing. Broadleaf plantain acts as a gentle diuretic, supporting the body’s natural detox pathways.

Together, these herbs come together to harmonise the body’s detox processes, cleanse the body, combat illnesses, enhance digestion, and boost energy levels, helping you feel lighter, more vibrant, and in tune with the rejuvenating energy of spring.

Have you ever tried any of these herbs either in food or as a natural remedy or medicine?

I'd love to hear about your experience in the comments below.

In a world where everyone has a mobile phone and you can actually learn pretty much anything online now, I am becoming increasingly overwhelmed with all the information. I personally am one to over share information and I love learning, it keeps me alive and expanding.

But in line with Ayurveda and yogic philosophy, and in the times of Kali Yuga, too much information can increase Vata and imbalance the nervous system. I know that’s how I often feel. So I’m going back to basics, mainly for myself. Keeping it simple and remembering the simple qualities of the plants I love most and use almost everyday.

I personally take chamomile and lavender everyday, even now while I’m breastfeeding. I also recommend it to anyone with nervous system disorders who have a tendency towards anxiety, overthinking, and stress and if suffering from insomnia.

You can take an infusion of lavender and chamomile every afternoon 1-2h after lunch, to not only help digest your meals and balance apana Vata (cold, dryness and wind in the colon) but also the nervous system. Lavanda angustifolia is what I like to use since it's native to the North Africa and the Mediterranean therefore closer to home and therefore higher in Prana.

If you haven't already got any species of lavender plant in your home or garden today, why not plant it since the bees love it and it's great for all the pollinators!

Feel free to connect and send me a message if you’d like to know about other ways to use lavender for healing.

What inspires you daily and brings you joy? For me, connecting to these things regularly and trying to live in gratitude is what keeps me afloat in this world of what seems at time expanding suffering.

There's more and more information online and in the news... and as I observe around me first hand in nature and my local environment... about microplastics and worsening environmental issues. My whole being and heart aches when I sit with these realities.

But then I always try to come back to source, be the witness, connect to love and try to observe and remember that although this is maya, this is the illusion, suffering as well as joy, love and happiness are a part of this reality and my experience, I can choose to focus on the light.

That doesn't mean ignoring the uncomfortable emotions or experiences, or ignoring reality, but trying to remain in love always and live from the heart. Trying to spread and expand love, come back and be in nature and connect with the elements... the water, the rivers, the ocean, the sun, the trees, the plants, the earth, the breeze that keeps life moving and flowing our common mother nature.

I would love to hear about your inspirations. Let me know in the comments below? What brings you joy?

Lots of love, light and healing to everyone ✨

There are days when all I do is doubt and wonder, why am I here, what can I do, what impact can I have, how can I help the world, should I be bringing more small souls into creation to witness more suffering on the planet. Or can I reconnect back to the joy, find the love in nature, reignite that love and sacredness within from connecting to the divine outside. Then I get moving, and get my internal energy flowing like water, like the river, not remaining in stagnation, in the mind.

If you're feeling low this winter or in the darker months, try connect to the 5 elements at least once a day, to the earth, to the water, to the sun or fire, to the air, to prana. When we connect to nature or one another we feel one, full, love, embraced. Nature is always there, our mother, waiting to receive us in her full embrace.

I love you trees with all my heart and body, soul, with my entire being. Bringing tears to my eyes, filling my heart with such awe and wonder I could burst.

Thank you for your presence, thank you for your gift, thank you for being there for us, for our survival.

My 4 month old often decides that we need a day off or even a few, if he's feeling overwhelmed by all the stimulation and new experiences, the noises streets, the rushing cars, the infinite instant satisfaction. So we often go back into cocoon phase.

Sometimes it takes me a while to realise what he needs, to stop everything, to allow myself to rest with him, and let go of what I think I should be doing. I stop everything and just BE with him, hold him, hug him, play with him and cuddle him, trying to make peace with my internal judge that says I should be doing.

The dirty clothes that need washing will be there tomorrow... Or the floor that needs sweeping will collect dust again over next week. It can be swept tomorrow or even next week...

Instead we go to look at the autumn leaves as they turn from luscious green to their crisp orange and red. We go to touch them, crunch them and even taste them... So he can experience the world at his pace, slowly and in presence.

At 4 months he's still only been outside the womb less than half the time he was inside, hibernating, growing, meditating... It takes time for me to reprogramme myself and join him in his presence, where he can look at the shadows on the wall, or the light coming through the window.

He is teaching me so much as I observe him, give him space to express himself, react from what he needs and how he is feeling, hold him close and listen.
