3nd Conference on Public Health in Africa - CPHIA 2022

Yesterday, Kenya launched the REACH initiative, which aims to transform community health in the country by 2029. The initiative, which is a collaboration between Africa CDC and IFRC, targets 50 million Kenyans. The Resilient and Empowered African Community Health (REACH) initiative, which is being carried out in partnership with IFRC, seeks to improve the health of communities across Africa by scaling up people-centred and integrated CHWs and systems.

Africa CDC Regional Coordinating Centres held a milestone gathering on the sidelines of the . Participants and health experts echoed the power of regional collaboration in shaping the future of health in Africa. Public health leaders, including the Ag Deputy Director General Dr Ahmed Ogwell and Ministers of health from Southern and Eastern Africa, came together under one vision: Building Resilient Health Systems and Enhancing Health Security. This gathering symbolises a commitment to stronger health systems and marks a step forward in our collective journey towards a healthier, more resilient, coordinated Africa.
