The Addis Continental Institute of Public Health (ACIPH) successfully conducted a workshop on “Evidence Synthesis for Clinical Decision-Making: Systematic Review & Meta-Analysis” from October 27 to November 7, 2025. A total of 19 participants took part in this intensive and interactive training, which brought together medical doctors and researchers from SPHMMC, AHRI, ACSIS–Ethiopia, and Zewditu Hospital.

The workshop provided participants with hands-on experience in systematic review and meta-analysis methods aimed at strengthening evidence-based clinical practice.

It was a productive and engaging session, and the ACIPH team is delighted to have facilitated the training. The institute looks forward to future collaborations and similar capacity-building opportunities in advancing clinical research and evidence-based decision-making in Ethiopia.

Workshop on Evidence Synthesis for Clinical Decision-Making: Systematic Review and Meta analysis Oct2025

Short Course Rationale

This training equips participants with the skills to synthesize and critically evaluate epidemiological and clinical research for evidence-based healthcare and public health practice. It is designed for clinicians, researchers, and health professionals who wish to strengthen their ability to interpret and apply research evidence in decision-making. Participants will be introduced to key concepts and practical methods for conducting quantitative research synthesis using meta-analysis.

Congratulations, ACIPH’s 2025 MPH Graduates

Addis Continental Institute of Public Health proudly presented 41 MPH students for graduation on August 9, 2025. Notably, 70% of the graduates were females. The Guest of Honor, Dr. Agonafir Tekalign, President of the Ethiopian Public Health Association and Country Director for Malaria Consortium, handed the degree to the graduates. This year’s graduation ceremony was especially memorable, as it took place on the eve of the Institute’s 20th Anniversary, which will be celebrated in August 2026.

Addis Continental Institute of Public Health will be implementing research (“Research network for design and evaluation of adolescent health interventions and policies in Sub-Saharan Africa”) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. ACIPH is looking for competent and qualified candidates as postdoc. Interested candidates who fulfil the requirements are hereby invited to apply immediately.
Position: Postdoctoral fellow

Duties and Responsibilities
• Contribute to the development of study tools.
•Contribute to the development of adolescent health interventions.
•Participate in designing, implementing and disseminating adolescent health implementation and policy research.
•Contribute to writing manuscripts and research briefs.
•Supervise and support PhD and Masters’ students.
Requirements:
•PhD in Public Health or other related health fields.
•Prior experience in qualitative and qualitative data analysis, interpretation and presentation.
•Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills
•Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
•Proven experience in field research works.
•Excellent written and verbal skills in English.

Station: Addis Ababa
