The Children's Heart Fund of Ethiopia - በኢትዮጵያ የልብ ሕሙማን ሕፃናት መርጃ The Children's Heart Fund of Ethiopia was founded in 1989 G.C. by Dr. Belay Abegaz and fellow Ethiopi

The Children’s Heart Fund of Ethiopia (CHFE) was established in 1989 G.C. as a non-governmental and charitable organization focused on helping children with congenital heart disease being the first organization to provide pediatric open-heart surgery and still the sole provider of the service in Ethiopia.

Today marks a historic milestone at the Children’s Heart Fund of Ethiopia (CHFE)! 🏥✨
​We are currently hosting a special surgical mission in collaboration with our longtime partners, , marking 30 years of working together to mend little hearts. This year also marks CHFE’s 37th year of dedicated service to the children of Ethiopia.
​The mission is being led by a powerhouse team of cardiac surgeons:
👨‍⚕️ Dr. Fitsum Argaw
👨‍⚕️ Dr. Yayehyirad Ejigu
👨‍⚕️ Dr. Habtamu Sime
​Together with the skilled CHFE medical staff, they are working tirelessly to ensure every child has the chance at a healthy future.
​From our humble beginnings 37 years ago to this world-class partnership today, our mission remains the same: No child should die from a treatable heart condsaving

Mending Broken Hearts Since 1989 G.C.

The Children’s Heart Fund of Ethiopia (CHFE) owning the one and only Cardiac Center-Ethiopia delivers life-saving heart surgeries and other heart disease treatments and care FOR FREE for the past 31 years with support mobilized from Ethiopian citizens and foreign partners.

More than 8,000 surgeries were carried out for children with heart disease and more than 7,000 are in line waiting for their turn to be treated.

CHFE is dedicated to making a real difference to the heart health of Ethiopians. Every day, our work includes:
