The Children's Heart Fund of Ethiopia - በኢትዮጵያ የልብ ሕሙማን ሕፃናት መርጃ The Children's Heart Fund of Ethiopia was founded in 1989 G.C. by Dr. Belay Abegaz and fellow Ethiopi

The Children’s Heart Fund of Ethiopia (CHFE) was established in 1989 G.C. as a non-governmental and charitable organization focused on helping children with congenital heart disease being the first organization to provide pediatric open-heart surgery and still the sole provider of the service in Ethiopia.

በኢትዮጵያ የልብ ሕሙማን ሕጻናት መርጃ እና የሴቭ ቻይልድስ ሃርት አጋርነት 30 ዓመታትን ዘልቋል

እ.ኤ.አ. 1995 የተጀመረው ይህ አጋርነት ዶክተር ኤሚ ኮኸን ከኢትዮጵያ የልብ ሕሙማን ሕጻናት መርጃ መስራች ዶክተር በላይ አበጋዝ ጋር በመሆን ሁለት ሕይወት አድን የቀዶ ህክምና በማከናወን ሲሆን ከዚያን ግዜ ጀምሮ ትብብሩ እየተጠናከረ መጥቷል።

በዚህም በሴቭ ቻይልድስ ሃርት አማካኝነት ወደ 1ሺህ የሚጠጉ የልብ ሕሙማን ወደ እስራኤል ተጉዘው የልብ ቀዶ ሕክምና አገልግሎት እንዲያገኙ ተደርጓል።

የሴቭ ቻይልድስ ሃርት ተወካይ ሲሞን ፊሸር ለ30ኛ ዓመት በዓል አከባበር እና ለቀጣይ ዙር የታካሚዎች ምርመራ ዝግጅቱን ለመጀመር አዲስ አበባ ገብተዋል።

በመጪው የፈረንጆቹ አዲስ ዓመትም ሁለቱ ድርጅቶች ተጨማሪ ህፃናትን በመለየት የሴቭ ቻይልድስ ሃርት የህክምና ቡድን ጋር በመሆን የህክምና አገልግሎት በመስጠት የ30 ዓመታት አጋርነት ይከበራል።

ሁለቱም ድርጅቶች ትብብራቸውን ለማጠናከር እና ለብዙ አመታት የህፃናትን ልብ ለማዳን ቁርጠኞች መሆናቸውን ተናግረዋል።

We’re honored to announce a heartwarming milestone: Save A Child's Heart (SACH) and Ethiopia’s Children’s Heart Fund (CHFE) have been partnering for 30 years to save children’s lives. Last week we welcomed SACH Executive Director Simon Fisher to Addis Ababa to kick off plans for our 30th anniversary celebration and next big patient screening. Our story began in 1995, when SACH founder Dr. Ami (“Ami”) Cohen performed the very first surgery on an Ethiopian child with heart disease. Dr. Cohen worked closely with Ethiopian pioneer Dr. Belay Abegaz (CHFE’s founder) during that mission. Those first two life-saving surgeries were just the beginning.

Today, our partnership has grown from those two children to hundreds more. By 2019, over 700 Ethiopian kids had traveled to Israel for heart surgery through SACH. We are now nearing the amazing milestone of 1,000 lives saved together – a true testament to the power of teamwork. In the coming year we’ll screen many more children in Ethiopia and host a special SACH medical team on the ground to celebrate 30 years of hope and healing. Stay tuned for stories of courage and new beginnings as we work together to keep young hearts beating strong!

Together, we are not only mending children’s hearts, but also building stronger bridges of collaboration, skills transfer, and hope for Ethiopia’s future.

Mending Broken Hearts Since 1989 G.C.

The Children’s Heart Fund of Ethiopia (CHFE) owning the one and only Cardiac Center-Ethiopia delivers life-saving heart surgeries and other heart disease treatments and care FOR FREE for the past 31 years with support mobilized from Ethiopian citizens and foreign partners.

More than 8,000 surgeries were carried out for children with heart disease and more than 7,000 are in line waiting for their turn to be treated.

CHFE is dedicated to making a real difference to the heart health of Ethiopians. Every day, our work includes:
