በዓለም አቀፍ ደረጃ ትኩረት ያልተሰጣቸው የሐሩር ክልል በሽታዎች (NTDs) የግንዛቤ ማስጨበጫ ቀን
ትኩረት ያልተሰጣቸው የሐሩር ክልል በሽታዎች (NTDs) በዓለም ዙሪያ ከአንድ ቢሊዮን በላይ ሰዎችን ያጠቃሉ፤ አብዛኞቹ ተጠቂዎች ደግሞ ተጋላጭ የሆኑና መሠረታዊ አገልግሎቶችን የማያገኙ ማህበረሰቦች ናቸው። እንደ ዴንጊ ትኩሳት (dengue)፣ ሌሽማኒያሲስ (leishmaniasis)፣ ቢልሃርዝያ (schistosomiasis)፣ ዝሆኔ (lymphatic filariasis) ያሉ በሽታዎች ለረጅም ጊዜ ለሚቆይ ሕመም፣ ለአካል ጉዳት እና ለማህበራዊ መገለል ይዳርጋሉ። እነዚህ በሽታዎች በተለይ በሕፃናትና በቤተሰቦች ላይ ከፍተኛ ጉዳት ያደርሳሉ።
ብዙዎቹ ትኩረት የተነፈጋቸው የሐሩር ክልል በሽታዎች መከላከልና መታከም የሚችሉ ቢሆኑም፣ በዓለም አቀፍ የጤና እንቅስቃሴዎች ውስጥ አሁንም ተገቢው ትኩረት አልተሰጣቸውም። ለውጥ ለማምጣት ግንዛቤ መፍጠር የመጀመሪያው እርምጃ ነው፦ ቀደም ብሎ በሽታን መለየት፣ የሕክምና አቅርቦትን ማሻሻል እና ምርመራዎች የእነዚህን በሽታዎች ጫና በከፍተኛ ሁኔታ ሊቀንሱ ይችላሉ።
በዚህ ቀን ግንዛቤን ለማህበረሰብ ለመፍጠር እና ለዓለም አቀፍ ትብብር ትልቅ ትኩረት እንሰጣለን። ግንዛቤን በመፍጠር እውቀትን በማሰራጨት እና ተገቢውን እርምጃዎች በመውሰድ በዓለም ዙሪያ ጤናማና ጠንካራ ማህበረሰቦችን ለመፍጠር የበኩላችንን እንወጣ።
World Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTD) Awareness Day
Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) affect more than a billion people worldwide, mostly in vulnerable and underserved communities. These diseases including dengue, leishmaniasis, schistosomiasis, lymphatic filariasis, and soil transmitted helminthes can cause long-term illness, disability, and social stigma, often impacting children and families the hardest. Many NTDs are preventable and treatable, yet they remain overlooked in global health initiatives. Awareness is the first step toward change: early diagnosis, improved access to treatment, and stronger prevention efforts can drastically reduce the burden of these diseases.
On this day, we emphasize the importance of education, community action, and global
collaboration. By learning, spreading knowledge, and supporting public health measures, we
can help prevent suffering and create healthier, more resilient communities worldwide.
