To everyone standing on that start line in London this Sunday.
The training is done. The long runs, the early mornings, the days when you didn't want to but did anyway. That's all in you now. Nothing to add, nothing to change.
Sunday is yours.
And when you cross that finish line on The Mall, this is what comes next.
The mistake most runners make after a marathon: they stop moving but the nervous system doesn't. It stays in the state it ran 26.2 miles in. High alert. High cortisol. Waiting for the next demand. Sleep feels elusive. Appetite is off. Mood dips. This is the nervous system still running the race.
