A few moments from Kuopio this weekend.

Loved the shala and the atmosphere of Mysore classes, and the great conversations we had about asana, meditation and the (un)stability of the mind.

I also loved the art, the pizza and the moments of sewing together at the art museum with , and . ❤️

No need to fix the experience. Kiitos, kuopiolaiset! 💗

One of the most quietly powerful things about practice?

You’re not doing it alone 🤍

Even when it looks like it — just you, your mat, and your breath (and maybe your to-do list sneaking in…) — something bigger is happening over time.

Because we keep returning to a shared space.

I see it every week:
Someone arriving tired… but staying.
Someone negotiating with their resistance.
Someone starting again after a break.
Someone just practicing, without trying to be “good” at it.

And somehow, all of that belongs.
We’re not there to perform.
Or prove anything.
Or get it right.
We’re there to meet what is — kindly.

And that’s where the real magic is.

Not in the shapes.
Not in the progress.
But in that quiet feeling of being held…
In a community where you can show up exactly as you are.

(This is also where your nervous system quietly relaxes, by the way.)

This is very much alive right now inside Practice of Returning – Spring Cycle.

Even online, it’s real. People showing up from their own homes, their own lives — but not alone.

If you feel like having a space like that, you’re so welcome to join:

• Practice of Returning – Spring Cycle (online)
• Kuopio (this weekend)
• Seinäjoki (May 13th to 14th)
• Kadermo Retreat (June 21st to 26th)

Come as you are. Come when you can. Come a little tired, a little unsure, or just curious.

There’s a place for you here 🤍

I remember my first Ashtanga Yoga class.

It was a Friday evening in May 2004, and the bright spring light filled the room.
Something in me softened and it felt like coming home.

And somehow… that feeling has stayed.
It’s what keeps bringing me back to the mat.

But what happens on the mat hasn’t always been peaceful or pretty.

I’ve compared myself to others.
Felt resistance, fear, doubt.
Wanted to escape the moment (even to the bathroom 😄).
Wanted to be “better.”
Felt like I wasn’t enough.

And also…
I’ve felt clarity.
Groundedness.
Moments of being deeply held.

The whole range of being human.

And somewhere along the way, it’s easy to forget:

Beneath the poses, beneath the practice…
what is it that we’re really returning to?

For me, it’s simple.
A feeling of coming home.

So I’ll leave you with this:

What is the space you would like to return to in yourself?

This Sunday, we open The Practice of Returning — Spring Cycle with a talk, chanting, and yoga nidra.

If you feel the pull, you’re warmly welcome to join us 🤍

Summer retreat at Kadermo Conscious Living in Hanko, Finland, from Sunday, June 21st, to Friday, June 26th, with me! 💛

The retreat program includes daily Mysore classes (with a weekly led class) and meditation in the mornings plus Yoga Sutra, chanting, and meditation sessions in the afternoons.

All classes are taught in an approachable way, and all the teachings are tied to our daily experiences in life and practice.

The fee (600 euros) includes accommodation, delicious meals (fruit and smoothies for breakfast, lunch, and dinner made by the famous Anu Ganesh from Mysore, India), the yoga program, and taxi + boat transportation from Hanko railway station.

I like Kadermo because of the silence, nature, and the relaxed atmosphere of the island. The retreat center has been running since the 90s, and everything is well organized.

There is also a little European-style cafeteria (right next to the yoga shala) and a possibility to take a dip in the sea (right next to the cafeteria).

It’s a perfect place to get away from the hectic rhythm of urban life and forget about the screens and the news for just a while.

Would you like to start this spring differently, with kindness and awareness?

On the mat, and perhaps, off the mat as well.

Spring has a quiet way of asking us to leave what’s not working anymore and start afresh again. 🌿

If your practice has felt distant, inconsistent, or heavy lately — you’re not alone.

Maybe you’ve taken a break. Maybe life simply pulled you in other directions.

This is your invitation to return. 🩷

The Practice of Returning — Spring Cycle (Reawakening) begins in just 2 days.

This is not about getting “back on track.”

Not about pushing harder or fixing yourself.
It’s about softening the noise of self-judgement… And remembering how to come back — to your body, your breath, and awareness.

It’s a space where:
– You don’t need to perform
– You don’t need to be consistent to belong
– You simply begin again (as many times as needed)

This spring, we practice with the intention to:
• Clear old patterns
• Reconnect with the joy of practice
• Build discipline without self-abandonment
• Grow something meaningful — from a place of trust

✨ Through Mysore-style classes
✨ Monthly workshops + seasonal talks
✨ A supportive, steady community
✨ A rhythm that follows nature — not pressure

If you’ve been practicing with me already, this is an invitation to go deeper —
to experience practice not just as classes, but as a living, seasonal rhythm.

And if you’re new or returning after a pause…
this is a gentle place to begin again.

We don’t force growth here.
We create space for it.

The Spring Cycle runs April 2 – June 18.
You can join for one or two weekly Mysore practices, along with the full seasonal container.

If you feel the pull, you’re ready 🌱

Send me a message and I’ll share the details.
Let this be the season you return — not to perfection, but to yourself.

I was recently asked to teach gentle yoga —
“Just not Ashtanga Yoga.”

And there it is again… that old reputation.

Ashtanga is still seen as anything but gentle.

But the practice isn’t the problem.
It’s how we meet ourselves inside it.

With pressure → it hardens.
With presence → it transforms.

Spring is here and it's the perfect time to begin again… or adjust the way you meet yourself in your yoga practice.

✨ For that, I’m opening a new space in April: The Practice of Returning

Most of us get into yoga by practicing postures. However, ahimsa (nonviolence) is the first principle of the purification process called Ashtanga yoga.

Not harming any beings is the root from which all the other Yamas grow, and a principle to which any decisions, actions and thoughts can be mirrored to.

How do we relate to the world around us?
How do we relate to ourselves?
To other beings, animals and the planet?

What does ahimsa mean in practical life and how are we still harming ourselves and others without being conscious about it?

How could we see our actions even clearer and act more consciously? And therefore, remove the ignorance?

On Saturday January 10th, I will be offering and online event with the theme Ahimsa - non-violence.

Here’s the program:
8.45 AM (EEST): silent sitting
9 AM led primary series
snack break
10.35 AM - 12 PM Ahimsa - non-violence

Fee: 40 euros, EARLY BIRD FEE 30 euros (register and pay by December 31st)
