Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year!

Thank you to all of our patients for their continued trust and support. 2021 has been a very important year for this clinic, and we are very excited for this coming year with a lot of new things on the books!

Our Facebook and Instagram have now replaced our email newsletter, so please follow us to keep up to date on:

Spending too much time on social media?

Most of us now have a huge amount of spare time!
and what do we spend more time on now than ever? Social Medias!

Let's be honest these are scary times and we all look for comfort, and a few distractions.

But the amount of sad and fake news, uncertainty about everyone's future etc. are not helping our stress levels!

So why not join us and put a limit on social media (over)use?

Thankfully, Apple and Android did make apps to help you monitor and control our phone use! Namely ScreenTime and Digital Wellbeing, they will help you put a limit on how much time you spend on each app on your phone! You can always bypass it if and when needed.

We are adapting to the current health situation !

We are still open for emergencies. for every patient having a non-urgent condition, we have made tele-consult available on our Doctolib profile for a fraction of the cost of a normal consult, and we can help you move a little bit better without leaving your house.

For urgent patients, we are doing our very best and applying the strictest measures to keep you safe:

- We clean EVERYTHING between the patients, floor, desk massage table...
- We don't have patients one after the other, you will not wait in our waiting room
- We (obviously) wash our hands up to our elbows before and after each patient
- We will wear FFS2 masks to see our patients
- We take our temperature every day, at the first sign of anything, we will self quarantine and cancel every appointment.

If you are showing any symptoms of the coronavirus (cough, fever, shortness of breath...) please stay at home and reschedule !

We will be giving simple exercices routines to keep you active without moving from your house!

In the mean time, take care of yourselves and the ones you love !

A great article about children's injury in sports.

A few weeks ago, I was asked to look after kids from 12 to 16 playing football in a local club.
I was astonished by the number of injuries happening due to overuse...

a few advices to follow if your kid plays sports:
- encourage them do do different sports and broaden their skills
- Follow YOUR kid's rhythm ! he doesn't have to train as much as requested
- LISTEN to your kids ! If they complain about pain after ran exercise, they should temporarily STOP !

Are you going skiing anytime soon?

As you probably already know we are in a great area when it comes to ski!
If we don’t doubt for a second that you are great skiier/snowboarders/hot wine drinkers and raclette eaters, we still see a lot of you with those horrible itchy plasters.
We are now about to give you the 2 exercices that will reduce massively those risks of bad falls, and the local GP down at the station to call you by your first name!
They are easy, take 5 minutes tops and can be done anywhere!

1st one: The Chair!

The 1st thing that causes accident at the end of the 1st day is weak burning quadriceps (thigh muscle), you get tired it hurts overtime you turn, you give yourself a 5 seconds break going straight, you gain too much speed and then BAAAAAAM!

This exercise is very simple, all you need is a wall!
Put your back against a wall and move your feet forward to get that 90°angle at the knees and hold there as long as possible! You can all do it as a contest,the lighter you are the easier it is, you will be surprised when your 7 year old is fine and you are in agony!
if you are doing it on a slippery surface, don’t forget to take your socks off!

2nd one: Balance exercise

This one applies to everyone, even if your sport of choice is hot-wine!
Before starting, make sure you have something near to hold on to.
You have to stand on one leg and bend slightly your knee. Too easy? even after 2 minutes?? Close your eyes, they are the auto-correct of your balance system.
This exercise will help prevent falls on the slopes, and while walking on black ice!

Now that you’re ready to hit the tracks, we wish you great holidays and we hope not to see too many of you because of a bad fall!!

Elles sont très probablement moins mobiles / coincés et causent de la douleur !

Iphone users!

After speaking with many patients, I realised one shocking thing: young people know how to use the emergency SOS call on their phones, older people don't!!

Please take 2 mins to learn/re-learn how to use it! It could save your or somebody else's life

And if you don't know who you should call, dial 112! it's the same number in all European countries!
