Hello everyone! I hope that you are having a wonderful start to the week. I haven't posted here in a while so I wanted to share a few updates:

Firstly, I have created a new free resource for stress release which includes a guided meditation and restorative yoga posture guide. If you would like access please comment below and I will share the link with you.

I have created a new facebook group called Yoga & Mindfulness for Stress Release: A Community for Women to Find Joy. If you are a woman and are interested in joining a group where you will be supported while you learn about yoga and mindfulness, please join! I share affirmations, tips for stress release, mini trainings and short practices.

Day 7 - Meditate

Today is the final day of the seven days of calm series! I don’t know about you, but the past few days have flown by and these activities have been great little treats to keep me centered and grounded. We finish this series with meditation so that we can integrate all we have learned this week and invite continued calm into our daily lives.

Day 6 - Mindful Breathing

We breathe all the time, taking in on average 20,000 breaths per day! Breathing is the most vital thing for life, yet how many of these breaths to we notice, appreciate, listen to?

The breath is a great indicator of our health as well as our state of mind. It is also a great tool for cultivating one pointed awareness in preparation for meditation. The respiratory system is the back door to the nervous system which is why conscious mindful breathing can often be calming to the mind and body.

Today I invite you to take a few minutes to notice your breath - experience the calm that can unfold, and maybe begin to understand yourself on a deeper level.

Day 5 - Restorative Yoga

Restorative yoga provides a beautiful opportunity to rest. It involves supporting your body with numerous props, finding stillness, and staying a while (5-20 mins per pose)

Legs up the wall is a wonderful way to process your day, and let it go. This gentle inversion can help with tired legs and feet, aid with digestion, relieve low back pain, and give your mind and body space to rest.

Note: your legs should be resting against the wall, not being held up on their own.

Day 4 - A Mindful Walk

Maybe you spend time outside everyday, but how much of that time is mindful, in the present moment? Are you still thinking about your day/checking your phone, or do you notice the birds, bees and trees.

Today I encourage you to take a walk and be present in each moment. Notice everything around you intentionally, without judgement. Give your mind a rest so that your heart and soul can just be.

While it may be too late to start your day with movement it can be equally beneficial to end the day with a gentle stretch. Allow yourself to release tension from the day! Swipe through for movement ideas - it says morning movement but can be used any time during the day!
