Healing is definitely not à straight line. There are bumps and setbacks. Biggest lesson so far is patience, compassion and gentleness for the body. These last fews days have been spent resting often in bed reading "light on pranyama" by Iyengar. I may not get able to use my body well but I can breathe and learn more about this essential part of ourselves. I spent 1 hr closng my eyes, gently trying to push blood and good energy into my discomfort. I don't know if it worked, but tonight I feel better so perhaps it did 💜

3 weeks after back surgery I feel ready to refind that trust in myself. Everything takes more effort, more focus, more balance, more gentleness
Healing has not been a straight line forward as I expected !! It's not even the back but the shock to the entire body. I remind myself, its all temporary, be kind to yourself, take it as a learning opportunity !! Quiet determination sees me through, and a real need to not leave that last post as my last post for long 🙏🫶🩷

I've debated to myself whether to share this ! Here I am lying flat on my back after a car accident, still smiling, but unable to walk.Its a week since I had spinal surgery and today I walked 3km, twice as far as yesterday in the same time. I can only describe my progress from surgery to today as amazing. I can only put my progress down to 25 years of yoga. As my yoga guru, 😊 Simon Borg-Olivier said Yoga is an investment in your future. This resonated for me today. ❤️
